Kindle Warranty Review Rating:5 out of 5 stars I haven’t had to use the extended warranty yet, but felt like it was a good deal for the money. Since I carry my Kindle with me everywhere I go I wanted it to be protected by anything that could happen to it. I love reading and my Kindle is so light-weight and handy to keep in my purse,I can pull it out when I have any down time and read. I know the warranty was a good investment for me.

Smart Buy! Rating:5 out of 5 stars There are so many bad reviews on this item, in my case I believe it is a smart buy. There are so many things that amazon doesnt cover versus the extended warranty, that is actually only a year after the warranty that amazon covers. I bought it because I know how I am with electronics and i decided it was a smart buy for me.. Its your call, protect your expensive product!

Great Product Rating:5 out of 5 stars The Kindle is the best thing to come along since sliced bread. My wife has enjoyed its use ever since we received the product, especially because she is able to use it not only at home, at the beach, riding the bus, virtually anywhere. I believe it also has a feature whereby she can plug in earphones. It is a great product, and I may even get one for me someday. Thank you

Piece of Mind Rating:5 out of 5 stars I received my Kindle the other day and absolutely love it. It is very thin. I was debating on getting the coverage and then decided that just the possiblity of accidentally dropping it, spilling something on it (I love to read while eating)was just to great. Grace is not exactly my middle name. Also, I’m sure that the cost of replacing a battery is not cheap. I love to read and just may wear it out. $65.00 for two years of piece of mind is worth it. Hope I never have to use it but if I do I’m covered. Thanks Kindle.

How I love my Kindle Rating:5 out of 5 stars I am a bibliophile and thought that I could not move beyond the printed page. When I complete a novel on the Kindle I am as bereft as I ever was with print media. I am immediately back to the store to find another novel and keep the great experience going. I have completely reversed any preconceived ideas about e-media that I ever had. I would have to say that the only drawback is that not everything in print is available in Kindle format.

Seems good Rating:4 out of 5 stars The extended warranty seems to be a good idea on this item, I do not recommend these warranties on all products. The Kindle could suffer from a variety of problems and I want it covered. I have not had to use the warranty and I hope I will not.

Not yet used extended warranty Rating:4 out of 5 stars I have received my certificate of extended warranty, but have not as yet used it. I hope that I will not have to find out how good or bad it is. My desire is only to have the comfort of knowing that if my Kindle reader fails, that I have recourse without huge repair, replace costs. I would rate my comfort level as a testimony to peace of mind due to purchasing the extension. I recommend that you have it if you are a Kindle owner; and experience the same peace of mind that I have. (I still practice safe and careful use of my reader so as to not run risk of damage or failure as far as I am able.)

Warranty Protection Rating:5 out of 5 stars Since this is a warranty protection policy, I really wouldn’t know how to rate it unless I had to use it, now would I? I do assume since it’s through Amazon, it will be a good and valid product should I have a problem with my Kindle.

My Kindle Rating:3 out of 5 stars I am only half way through the instruction booklet. In the meantime Apple comes out with theirs and before I order my first book to read, Amazon says that the cost of their books is going up 50 %. in order to keep competition from your library. Great way to treat your customers

Buyer beware (read the fine print) Rating:1 out of 5 stars “Extended” when used in the context of warranties typically means that the warranty will be extended when the original warranty runs out. “Extended” when applied to the Kindle, means that it runs concurrently for the first year and only covers “additional” conditions. This is not well explained at the outset and was in fact only made clear to me when I received the actual warranty. I feel cheated.

Experation Date Incorrect Rating:3 out of 5 stars I read the page set for purching the 2 year extended warranty for the Kindle. It stated that the warranty period starts and the end of the factory warranty. When I received my warranty after purchasing it on 12/12/09, the expiration date (12/12/11) which is 2 years from the purchase date. Shouldn’t the expiration date be 12/12/12, since that’s 2 years from the factory warranty? So could someone please shed some light on the issue.
Thanks in advance

Extended, a bit, additional, a lot Rating:4 out of 5 stars I bought something I hope I never use, insurance for my Kindle. I almost didn’t, but I do like the idea that I am taking extra care of the gift, so thoughtfully given. It is too bad the insuring company did not make it truly extended. Kindle comes with its own coverage up to a point. What would have made this a no-brainer choice rather than an “I don’t know, can’t quite justify the cost” thing, would have been to apply the breakage portion to the existing manufacturer’s warranty and then extend the whole affair for two more years, making it truly extended. I’m happy knowing the coverage is there and will be even happier if I never have to test the quality of the coverage.

Bait and Switch Rating:3 out of 5 stars The product should be listed as a one year extension of the one year warrenty that comes with the Kindle. That said, I hope I never have to use it and that my Kindle continues to perform as it has for the month that I have owned it.

Kindle Rating:5 out of 5 stars For those of us with visual challenges, the Kindle solves a wide variety of problems. The 6 font sizes assist in seeing as does the bold print of the type. I thought the gray background would be a problem for me since usually any print on color is difficult, but the bold type overcomes that. I love being able to order books via the Kindle itself. I liked it so well that I ordered gifts for my missionary daughter and her husband. Unfortunately since they are in Dominican Republic they cannot access Amazon directly for books. Anything you can do about that???

A LifeSaver! Rating:4 out of 5 stars I recieved my Kindle for Christmas from wife and In-Laws. I debated for a few weeks about getting the service plan and we had a big trip coming up, so I bought the bullet and bought the plan. Boy was it a lifesaver!! A Kindle Must-Have Rating:4 out of 5 stars This is the second time I purchased the 2-year extended warranty for a Kindle2. First time was for myself, the second was for my wife. I’ve owned my Kindle2 since they first came out and have not needed the warranty – yet. I like the peace of mind that comes with knowing that if I sit on it, step on it, drop it just right, or otherwise fail to protect it properly that I have a back-up! I’m a huge advocate of the Kindle but they do feel pretty light and potentially fragile. I want to keep my investment protected with a good carrying case and a good warranty.

Good investment Rating:5 out of 5 stars I purchased my Kindle along with the warranty. I am glad that I did as my brother who purchased a Kindle over a year ago began having problems with his display. He suggested that I get the warranty but I had gotten it already. Problems with any electronic device that costs as much as this Kindle did and the cost of the warranty made it worth purchasing. I would recommend to anyone that they purchase the warranty.

Extended Warranty for Amazon Kindle a *M U S T * Rating:5 out of 5 stars In this twenty-first century, not only have electronics become a necessity, but our lives have been enhanced by the addition of so many wonderful gadgets, gizmos, and gotta-haves. The Amazon Kindle was one of this years most desired and treasured gifts during the holiday season. Since my partner is an avid reader and published poet, I thought this to be the perfect gift for her! (Besides that, every time she saw your commercial on TV, her eyes lit up!) I work hard for my money, and I make quality purchases with the expectation that “you get what you pay for”. Protecting such an investment is just as important as having the product itself. And what a good idea to “bundle” such an essential tool with a wonderfully substantial and attractive cover and additional screen protectors. Now, when I glance over the top of my computer and observe her reading the latest in the Dexter series, I can rest assured that she will most definitely find out “whodunit”!

This is NOT a True Kindle 2-Year Extended Warranty Rating:1 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE: I purchased the Kindle 2-Year Extended Warranty, sold by Service Net, on January 12, 2010. When I received the warranty, it is for two years from the date of purchase of the warranty, which does not include the manufacturer’s warranty (one year#. When I called to question this, I was told that they understood that it could be mis-stated and I could request a refund anytime within 60 days of purchase. The point is that the advertisement is false in that it is NOT a 2-year extended warranty — it is only for one year — even though they say you are getting two. BUYER BEWARE

We have had to call several times just to get the issuse resolved. I also found out that this warrenty only cover manufacturer probs only. So if you drop your kindle, you out the money. Waste of money. Rating:1 out of 5 stars I had a Kindle die on me after about 8 months of solid use. I called Amazon and they cross shipped me out a new one on Christmas DAY! (Amazon is so great! Love them. Love the Kindle).
But with my bit of bad luck, I figured I should buy an extended warranty for mine and the wife’s. Net Solutions sold a warranty to me for both units. Then AFTER I got the “contract” they suddenly decided to cancel it. Zap. Turns out Amazon will let you buy a warranty for a replacement Kindle but Net solutions will void it unless the replacement is shipped within 30 days of the original purchase. HEY! I’m not trying to rip anyone off. It’s not like I got a Kindle, sat on it then decided to buy a warranty. My replacement kindle was still in transit. Are these guys so rich they don’t need my money?
Then to add insult to injury I found out that the “2 year warranty” they let my wife have was no such thing!
The Kindle comes with a 1 year warranty. So you buy a 2 year extended warranty. Now do the math: 1 + 2 = ?
If you said 3 you would be wrong. In NetSolutions land 1 + 2 = 2
This item is misleadingly called a “2 year warranty” but it’s really just a 1 year warranty that they tack onto the end of the Kindle’s existing 1 year warranty.
As for the economics… It costs $65 which is about the industry standard 25% of purchase price – BUT – usually you really do get 2 extra full years of coverage PLUS the manufacturer’s warranty. So this thing is way over priced. Typically these ripoff’s are used about 3% of the time and you bet Net Solutions knows that. That’s good coin for the seller but a bad deal for you. Unless of course you are one of those 3%. Then you will be happy you have it.
I guess it all depends on how clumsy you are, right?
You can get the exact same thing for free if you buy your Kindle with an AMEX card. AMEX will double the Amazon warranty and they do it for free.

Money well spent?? Rating:4 out of 5 stars As with any warranty, you don’t know how good it is unless you use it. I purchased this product after reading the reviews of what it covered versus what was covered by the one year standard warranty Amazon offered for the Kindle. A bit pricey (approximately 20% the cost of the Kindle) but cheaper than buying a replacement if your Kindle is damaged. As with any extended warranty, if not used it’s money thrown away, but if needed it’s money well spent.

Likely this is good but I chose alternative provider Rating:5 out of 5 stars I do not have this brand but wanted to let you know of the alternative provider called SquareTrade that allows you to buy this, with accident coverage too, for a total of 3 years, for much less $. Look for discount codes on the internet and make sure you add the option for accident, spills, and drops. It still adds up to less. I have their warranties on other products too but cannot speak to their service since I have not made a claim. I gave this 5 stars since it may well be a fine policy and I will not punish their rating, but I wanted people to look for options. At the lower price I felt quite comfortable paying for a warranty.

necessary Rating:5 out of 5 stars the more portable something is – the greater the need for extra warranty. I had mine less than a week and dropped it. It literally slid out of my hands it’s so slippery and this was in my home. If we use Kindle the way Amazon expects us to, something is bound to happen. Seems like a good deal.

No need for extended warranty! Rating:2 out of 5 stars After all my researches, I decided not to purchase this extended warranty due to the followings:
1. My AMEX will extend the terms of the original Amazon.com manufacturer’s warranty for up to one additional year. Visa/Master Cards also has similar coverage, which is called Warranty Management Services.
2. AMEX also covers buyer protection for up to 90 days from the date of purchase against theft or accidental damage, up to $1,000 per occurrence.
3. 25% value of the kindle – Expensive
4. This extended warranty has vary Exclusions/Limitations

Peace of mind Rating:5 out of 5 stars I am like some others when it comes to extended warranties. I do not consider them worth it for the majority of items I purchase. Reading some of the reviews here made me think a bit. I purchased the Kindle 2 for my wife as a Christmas gift. We have two small children, one is just learning to pull himself up, and in turn, pull everything down in arms reach. For me it’s something we can’t do without in this stage of the game. Should she forget to place the Kindle out of harm’s way it won’t be a very costly mistake.
I had the opportunity to speak with a representative of the warranty company the other day just to see that everything was in order. I had ordered the Kindle, leather cover, Mighty light and the warranty during Thanksgiving. At first the warranty did not list as having a valid Kindle on file. After Christmas festivities were over I wanted to be sure things were updated since last checking on my Amazon account. The individual was very professional, and was able to answer all my questions in short order.
The price is a bit much for only one extra year, but if you consider the cost of replacing the unit should something happen during those two years it’s worth it in my book.

Excellent Product Rating:5 out of 5 stars I purchased tis for my wife for Christmas! This is a great gift to give anyone! I bought for the reaso it has multiple font sizes, if a book has text to speech it will be like listening to an audio book. This is great for individuals like my wife who is visually impaired.
I was able to enlarge the text large enough for her to get back to the physical act of reading, which she missed so much.
The only small flaw in this, is the keyboard letters would be easier to read if they were in bolder print.
Other than that it’s great!

months of use. It wasn’t dropped or anything. Just a blank square appeared in the middle of the page. Because my Kindle was less than a year old I was sent a replacement. I noticed a red sticker on the box and didn’t recall one on the original packaging. This Kindle worked well but less than a year later, it would not let me move from item to item from the home page. When I called to seek help for the problem I was told my original Kindle was replaced with a rebuilt one (remember the red dot!)and it had only a 3 month waranty and that had expired. My choices were to buy a new one or send the rebuilt one back and for $90 they would fix it. Needless to say I am most unhappy with Kindle warranties. I think my first defective Kindle should have been replaced with a NEW Kindle since my original was still under the warranty. Beware of the warranties for this product!

Self Insurance is Better Rating:2 out of 5 stars Here is how I look at it…. I buy a lot of electronics and never buy the extended warranty because rarely would I use it. If I bought an extended warranty for everything I purchased it would total into the $1,000s of dollars. Nearly always cheaper to be self insured if you buy electronics – These companies are not offering these warranties to be “nice” – they know they can make a large profit off of them… If you want “peace of mind” then put the cost of warranties into a savings account (everytime you buy something) and draw from it to replace broken stuff. You will find your savings account growing and will find you can even use it to replace obsolete electronics.

I haven’t had to use the extended warranty yet, but felt like it was a good deal for the money. Since I carry my Kindle with me everywhere I go I wanted it to be protected by anything that could happen to it. I love reading and my Kindle is so light-weight and handy to keep in my purse,I can pull it out when I have any down time and read. I know the warranty was a good investment for me.

There are so many bad reviews on this item, in my case I believe it is a smart buy. There are so many things that amazon doesnt cover versus the extended warranty, that is actually only a year after the warranty that amazon covers. I bought it because I know how I am with electronics and i decided it was a smart buy for me.. Its your call, protect your expensive product!

The Kindle is the best thing to come along since sliced bread. My wife has enjoyed its use ever since we received the product, especially because she is able to use it not only at home, at the beach, riding the bus, virtually anywhere. I believe it also has a feature whereby she can plug in earphones. It is a great product, and I may even get one for me someday. Thank you

Piece of Mind
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I received my Kindle the other day and absolutely love it.

Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I am a bibliophile and thought that I could not move beyond the printed page.

Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have received my certificate of extended warranty, but have not as yet used it.

“Extended” when used in the context of warranties typically means that the warranty will be extended when the original warranty runs out. “Extended” when applied to the Kindle, means that it runs concurrently for the first year and only covers “additional” conditions. This is not well explained at the outset and was in fact only made clear to me when I received the actual warranty. I feel cheated.

I read the page set for purching the 2 year extended warranty for the Kindle.

I bought something I hope I never use, insurance for my Kindle.

For those of us with visual challenges, the Kindle solves a wide variety of problems.

This is the second time I purchased the 2-year extended warranty for a Kindle2.

In this twenty-first century, not only have electronics become a necessity, but our lives have been enhanced by the addition of so many wonderful gadgets, gizmos, and gotta-haves.

BUYER BEWARE: I purchased the Kindle 2-Year Extended Warranty, sold by Service Net, on January 12, 2010. When I called to question this, I was told that they understood that it could be mis-stated and I could request a refund anytime within 60 days of purchase. The point is that the advertisement is false in that it is NOT a 2-year extended warranty — it is only for one year — even though they say you are getting two. BUYER BEWARE

I had a Kindle die on me after about 8 months of solid use.

Rating:4 out of 5 stars
As with any warranty, you don’t know how good it is unless you use it.

Likely this is good but I chose alternative provider
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I do not have this brand but wanted to let you know of the alternative provider called SquareTrade that allows you to buy this, with accident coverage too, for a total of 3 years, for much less $.

Wonderful way to read

I haven enjoyed my Kindle immensely just since I got it for Christmas. I even downloaded a book I’ve been reading in hardcopy for quite awhile because I kept leaving it home. I have three books I’m reading now, one of short stories, one for my book club and one just for my own use. I’m thrilled with the selection and prices of the books available.

No need for extended warranty!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
After all my researches, I decided not to purchase this extended warranty due to the followings:

I am like some others when it comes to extended warranties.

I purchased tis for my wife for Christmas!

Awesome value vs other warranties.

This is an awesome program with no deductible. I looked at an non-Amazon warranty and found they had a wait period and a deductable. This warranty is a good value for the money.

Kindle warranties

My first Kindle had a screen defect after 8
months of use.

Have a friend who bought a Kindle earlier than I, she had a problem with the Kindle while traveling. Something happened to the screen. She received a new Kindle.

Self Insurance is Better
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Here is how I look at it….
