Can’t say much for Acer Customer Support
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I’d been trying to talk my self out of this purchase but finally decided to take the plunge when I saw the red color go on sale for $300. Product was delivered right on time. I was excited to get it set up so we could use it in the family room to check email and to browse the net when TV got boring. The trouble started when I had difficultly connecting to my home network. Not a problem, I should be able to contact Acer customer service for help, right? Wrong. They were entirely unhelpful. Thankfully I was able to contact a friend who was able to resolve the problem over the phone for me.

    .

I like the product and feel that I made a wise purchasing decision. But I was sorely tempted to return the netbook for a refund after my experience with Acer customer service. Hopefully I won’t need to contact them again.

    .

I’d recommend this item to anyone who is looking for a notebook. It is stylish, very light, and surprisingly quick. And the red color is nice. Since I wanted a notebook with XP rather than Win7, this fit the bill nicely. As always, Amazon has an incredible selection and provided quick shipping.

    Great for commuting!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I absolutely love my new netbook. I purchased this computer so that I could take it to school with me. Because I downloaded Microsoft Office onto the computer, it has everything I need while working at school. I also put a SD card in it so that I have extra memory, and it makes transferring files much easier. This computer does everything that I needed it for. An added bonus-it easily fits in my purse or carry-on when I am travelling. The long battery life allows me to go where I need to without bringing the extra cable. I am at school for twelve hours a day and I have yet to run out of battery life. I love it and highly recommend it to any commuters who do not want to carry the extra weight around with them.

Acer Aspire One, great for the $$
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have found this 10inch notebook to be great for travel and has a long battery life that is great for road trips. I have not found anything that I have been upset about. It is not to be used for downloading large files or saving to the hard drive but all you need is a USB drive to save to and you are set!

    The perfect Netbook
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love my Acer Netbook. Added a 2GB SODimm 667 MHz Memory chip from Crucial. Keyboard and screen are absolutely fine for work away from the office. Close to 8 hour battery life on the 6 cell unit. WIFI reception is excellent. This unit also has bluetooth so that I can use my telephone headset while make Skype calls. Loaded Openoffice 3.1 on netbook and all modules function well. Reviewers have complained about the speakers on netbooks. You need to use headphones .. and the stereo sound is awesome. The red color of the netbook does pick up fingerprints; however, the fingerprints are far less noticeable than either the black or blue model.

Two minor minuses: (1) 6 cell battery extends past back of the netbook so it is may not fit most 10 inch netbook sleeves. (2) the 6 cell battery adds weight to the netbook; but not enough to concern me — my other laptop is a Dell Inspiron XPS (15″ screen) weights close to 3 times the weight once you include the charger.

All considered I rate this netbook a 5+.

I’ve had this product for a little over a week.

I read the reviews posted previously on this computer and have to agree with everyone else. It’s a wonderful little computer that hardly weighs anything. Despite the location of the shift buttons on the keyboard, it is not difficult to navigate the keyboard at all. I highly recommend this little dynamite computer to anyone looking for a portable, tote-along computer that can do just about everything the big boys do.

    Very nice netbook
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this netbook two months ago to use with Skype on a recent trip to Greece. The model I purchased had bluetooth which really worked well with my jabra headset. ACER has a wide variety of model numbers which appear very similar but have different options such as color, bluetooth, battery size, etc. which can be determined on the ACER web site. The battery life was excellent with the largest battery available (I believe 5200mah), well over 7 hours. The ability to easily enable/disable both the bluetooth and wifi transceivers is nice for airline flights and further extends the already excellent battery life. Keyboard is a little small but I was able to manage it well with my large hands. The mouse touch pad works far better than any of my previous Dell or IBM laptop computers. The build quality seems excellent but time will tell. I continue to use it around the house for Skype phone calls to minimize my cell phone charges and because of the superior sound quality.

    Good Netbook
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This netbook is very well designed. The Battery life is as advertised… very good & in the 7 hour range each and every time. Make sure you follow the instructions and completely drain and recharge it the first few times and do not leave it plugged in to the charger all the time. The small size does make your eyes work a little harder but not too bad. I use it every day rather than my desktop model.

Cons: Slower processing than my desktop computer, but maybe I expect too much from a $339 netbook. The built in camera has not been used yet as it appears that no software to utilize it was included. I’ll try some of my Logitech drivers & software. Icons in the system tray for battery, wireless, etc. would not show up even though everything was turned on. The culprit… McAfee. I have had much difficulty with McAfee in the past and I finally uninstalled it this time. Like magic, all of my missing icons appeared and processing even speeded up.

This unit is worth the price.

Just a wonderful piece of kit
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
… what more can I say. I use it as my main computer now with an ext monitor sometimes. If what you do is just normal stuff – web, email, skype, netflix instant (which BTW look great on the its screen), itunes – its all you need. On small gripe: speakers could be louder – but hey! Also be prepared that the battery pack stick out so its not 100% flat on your lap and may be less that totally comfortable to “wear” sometimes. But then 6 hour battery is well worth it. I dont mind the small keys but maybe I have nimble fingers. After a while I got to be able to type as fast as on a full-sized.

    For the price – its a must-have.

    little powerhouse
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Only had the Aspire about a month but so far I like what I see. It has all the power of my 2 year old laptop and the battery lasts as long as they say. How long that lasts remains to be seen. The only critiques I would offer are that it should be sold with the 2 GB ram, at least as an option, and you will have to have access to a home network to load your old programs if you don’t have an external CD player. But the ram upgrade is cheap and easy to do. I understand the older models required much more disassembly to upgrade the memory. Overall I like the computer a lot. If I was writing this after owning for 6 months I would give it the extra star.

Exactly What I Was Looking For
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I had been looking for a netbook for a while. I visited the normal retail stores (Best Buy, Target, Office Max/Depot, etc.) All had decent netbooks for similar prices. However, there were a few things that the in-store options did not have. One: Color…I did not want another black laptop like everyone else. I love the red color of the one I purchased on Amazon. Two: Battery life was even more important than color. I love the fact that this laptop has over 7 hours of battery life. Three: The Price is awesome. No other netbook was available in stores for this price and battery life. I am completely satisfied!

    Memory
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Don’t buy the package that includes a 2GB memory upgrade for this computer. The Aspire One will support only 1GB additional memory, so the upgrade is a waste of money.

    Perfect size for travel

Recently purchased this Acer and it’s already become a favorite of the family. It’s perfect for travel. The size, battery life, and wireless make it very useful. It’s also a lot faster then I would have thought!

If you are looking for a small slow notebook, then you have found it. So far I haven’t had any problems with it, but realize what you are actually getting for the money (something I didn’t pay too much attention to prior to purchase). The notebook has no dvd drive, something I found to be essential after the purchase. I had to buy a USB dvd drive, a decent one will run you close to $100.00. The notebook comes with very basic software. If all you want to do is surf the web, it is adequate. I wish I had purchased a small laptop with a better processor and dvd drive. I recommend you think twice!

    Perfect traveling companion
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Netbooks are getting a lot of heat but I figured its mostly people who fear netbooks taking a big chunk of the laptop market away from over priced computers that are afraid of them. These machines are perfect for web surfing, email, light to medium games, education software for the kids, homework, work processing, note taking, etc. In short 90% of what people do with their computers can be done with these little babies. If your needs are too great for a netbook, you prolly “know” that already.

The only downside to this laptop and I really do mean the only downside is that the trackpad and left & right button clicks are small and poorly designed. I hear they are better than acer’s first try but still I really hate to use the built in trackpad. I much prefer ‘any’ mouse or track pad.

    Great little machine
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Bought this in the end of August. Fast and sweet. The red cover is snazzy but does get fingerprints. Battery power I find long lasting. Fully charged you can leave the power cord behind. Would have been nice to have MS word loaded but on the other hand Open Office is great and free and downloadable. One thing to note. Looked it up in the CNET reviews and they must have tested the older version of this. It shows it has not having blue tooth, which it does, and knocked it for battery life. They show it in the review as 3 cell battery and this one is a 6 cell. Nice machine!

    Faster and lighter than imagined!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
WOW! This ACER netbook is faster and more portable than I imagined. I retired my 7+ lbs HP laptop, and this little gem does everything- and more! It doesn’t have a CD/DVD built in, but if I need to read or write to one, I can do it through my home or work network anyway. I’ve had it for 3 weeks and have taken it everywhere. Battery life is incredible with the newer 6 cell battery- which comes with this model no. It lasts until I’m ready to plug it in before bed, sometimes with 50% power left after being on all day.

    Exactly what I wanted
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is perfect! I bought the same brand with the smaller battery locally and decided that I preferred the longer battery time. I am getting right at 8 hours per charge. It’s perfect for surfing the web, doing facebook, email, etc. I have loaded open office and my zune stuff on here so I can watch movies and listen to my music. Yeah, the keyboard is small but when you get a netbook you expect that don’t you? The bluetooth is nice – I have used it a couple of times and the webcam isn’t bad. The wifi picked up my home network immediately with no issues. It will be nice to travel with this little guy.
