    Acer is pretty cool.

I work full-time and teach part-time online, so this is an ideal solution to connect with my students more frequently during my commute on the train. It’s nice to have a compact laptop – battery life is LONG! Only dislike is that it’s a PC (I’m a Mac girl through and through). But given the price and what I’m using it for, it rocks!

    Great for Teens!

I bought this mini for my niece and she loves it. It’s great for simple internet browsing and web-camming. She just absolutely love its. The speakers are just alittle weak but so are the ones for HP. I’m glad I bought it and it was a great price. It made a nice gift.

    Touch Pad not working
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Bought as a mobile computer for work. Loved the size, battery life etc. Unfortunately the touchpad is extremely small and didn’t function properly from the beginning. A regular mouse plugged in worked fine but the touchpad made the mouse jump all over the screen. Sent it to Acer for repair and they sent it back with the same problem. Returned to Amazon for a refund. Debating whether to buy the same or switch to Asus.

I am definitely not a genious when it comes to computers, but in my opinion this netbook is great! The 6 cell battery is amazing, and the size is perfect for carrying around campus to all of my classes. I am a teacher, and I use it for checking email, posting information, grades, etc., presentations using a projector, and many other things. I was afraid that it would be really slow, but once I removed alot of the extra programs that came with it, it was fine. I definitely recommend this computer!

    Good 1st computer

I bought two of these for two of my preteen grandchildren. They setup easily. I did have to add an external disc drive. The grandkids have used them now for about two months and are very happy. They can go online through their parents wireless setup. This seems to be a relatively inexpensive way to get a personal computer in the hands of a 1st time user. Naturally, it does not have the memory (RAM) or speed of a faster CPU, but seems very good for its limited intent.

    Problem with screensize
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Could someone PLEASE help me? Bought this ACER AOD250 but I am unable to see the bottom of the window in some applications. No problem with the screen! The applications don’t allow to resize, enlarge the windows or pull them more up. They dissapear beyond the toolbar. So I can’t press OK or Agree in some windows, tried to do so with TAB without seeing anything but doesn’t work for all things.. Suggestions?

One, if not THE, best netbook available!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
First off, for those that don’t know what a netbook is, it’s almost like a laptop in almost every aspect of it except that the RAM size and processor speeds cannot keep up with today’s high demands for pretty much anything (such as photoshop or computer games; although they would still open and install like normal, it was just be too slow). Don’t let this stop you from adding IM’s though! They still run perfect.

I am a college student and i absolutely love almost everything about this netbook! Why this model?? I purposely got this model particularly for the 6-cell battery, providing an average of 6 hours of battery life. Also specific to the later models, the addition of bluetooth! This i think is just a neat little add-on. I also got the white netbook because of the “smudging” factor (fingerprints).

Also, the reason i say this netbook is perhaps the best in the market is because i spent about 3 weeks, 2 hours a day, researching different netbooks and reading every single customer review that came about; from the samsung nc10s/nc20s, to dell and hp netbooks, even asus and other uncommon brands. Although there were some netbooks with longer battery life, the acer netbooks typically had faster processors, were significantly thinner, were somewhat cheaper, and were even better looking than other brands!

I especially recommend this netbook as an alternative to laptops for college students!!

    Ratings.

    Battery (6+ hours)-5/5

    Power (multi-tasking)-3/5

    Features (bluetooth/webcam)-5/5

    Price (from $308)- 5/5

Value (compared to other netbooks)- 5/5

    Overall- 4.6/5

    I love it!

This laptop is not meant to be used for professional video, image or sound work.

It doesn’t even have a CD room (and it shouldn’t be expected to have one anyway)

But if you’re a student, bussiness man, or a writer (specially a writer!!!)

You will love this netbook. I think it is a great first lap top for kids or teenagers because it is sooo easy to start using and easy to use in general.

It you just want to write and write and write….this computer will make it easier for you!

If you just want to have fun it will be even easier. It’s a funny computer (in a good sense, meaning you have fun with it).

The machine is very silent (maybe too silent sometimes, read ahead),so no strange disturbing noises are heard. The web cam is good and you can take pictures with it. The whole computer is great for skype or other kind of video conference interaction

The touchpad is amazingly easy to use(says someone who would never touch a laptop with an usb “normal” mouse). The keyboard is logical and easy to adapt to.

You will love the way this computer looks….it’s small enough to stand out but big enough not to look like a toy. It is just plain beautiful, you will enjoy just watching it ( eventought a computer should probably be picked up because of its features and not because of its looks).

Battery life seems ethernal, it’s amazing!

Anyway I’m just really happy that I purchased this, I wouldn’t change it for anything else in the world. Enjoy, but don’t expect it to do what it can’t

It’s not flawless though, that’s why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5:

The speakers are just ridiculous, you can barely hear anything at all (unless you have headphones but I haven’t tried that method yet, I will though)

The computer gets way too hot!!! if you use it on your lap like I do most of the time you’ll feel some kind of uncomfortable heat almost burning you. The usb thing I use to get internet on the pc also gets really hot, I hope it won’t get damaged.

the shiny surfaces get finger prints and scratches and dust it seems impossible to get rid of………

I don’t think any of the bad points I’ve talked about so far are important, I mean, they are things we can easily get used too. It’s a simple great laptop for simple great peopla! >D
