Our newest hummingbird feeder the HummZinger Ultra combines patented Nectar-guard tips with a built-in ant moat. Nectar-Guard tips are flexible membranes attached to the HummZinger Ultra's feed ports. These unique tips prohibit entry from flying insects while allowing unrestricted feeding by hummingbirds. Also, the built-in ant moat stops crawling insects in their tracks before they can reach the nectar. These two patented features combine to give our HummZinger Ultra the ultimate in protection from both flying and crawling insects while you can enjoy the hummingbirds. It really works! Ha ha yellow jackets!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
During the Summer (2009) I had been having the WORST time with yellow jackets invading my hummingbird feeders. In desperation, I searched for solutions online; found this product and was skeptical at first.

I moved the location of this new feeder about five feet from its prior location. The hummers found the new feeder right away and had no problems feeding. The yellow jackets did find the feeder eventually, but they got discouraged and left the feeder alone (and the hummers). I will definitely use these feeders next season.

These feeders really work! Plus they are easy to clean and refill. I bought two so I could have one in place at all times. (While ants aren’t a problem for me, the ant moat at the top is large and stays filled (unlike others that evaporate in hot weather).)

the bees were swarming around my last feeder so I invested in this one. It did the trick.

    A Great Product….

This product is perfect. I bought a similar one (CHEAPER) at Lowes and that was a mistake. It was not balanced and always leaned to one side when the liquid was inside. This one is really WORTH the extra few bucks and is balanced perfectly even after being hit and dropped.

I will buy more of these!

This feeder is great and the hummingbirds found it almost immediately. I highly recommend it.

A bit expensive, but it performs as advertised. No bees or wasps, very easy to clean and the birds use it.

Feeds well but tilts and spills
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I liked the design of the feeder at first look and the ease of filling. But when filled with an adequate amount of liquid the feeder lists to one side. Then as the hummingbirds step on the feeder it often spills some liquid. The basic design makes it unbalanced unless you have a way to hold the rod vertical.

We have been using these feeders for a number of years and love them.

I needed to replace one because a bear got one off our back porch and destroyed it!!

The one we replaced we had been using for about 7 years. No bees or ants can bother them and we get loads of humming birds. We use these in WV and MD.

Hummers started using the feeder within an hour. I don’t know how they find it so fast but they do.

The feeder is very durable , easy to clean and was pretty easy to assemble. I just hang this one from a “Shepherds Hook”.

The recommended feeding mixture ( 1 pt sugar to 4 pts water ) works great.

    Not Very Happy

I purchased this item thinking that it had 6 ports as shown in the product information picture. It came with only 4 ports which was stated in the information section so I guess I should have checked all the information more closely. I guess I was fooled. The feeder is very small and will not last for more than a half day with all the Hummingbirds that come to visit me. So far (after one week) there has been little interest in the feeder, perhaps because I am using the insect guards. I have asked Amazon.com what to do about the confusion regarding the number of ports and I am waiting their reply. If you have a lot of Hummingbirds, I do not recommend this feeder, purchase something with a larger volume.

Have had three other type hummingbird feeders. One broke and the other two we have. The other two spill easily and are harder to clean. Hummzinger works well in all respects.

    A humdinger of a feeder
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
A month after I moved into my home, I bought my first hummingbird feeder, which turned out to be a disappointment. The reservoir was an attractive large plastic red apple, but it constantly leaked nectar. I threw it out. No more gravity feeders for me.

So, the Hummzinger was a natural choice. It can’t leak, it’s easy to clean and I can watch the birds as they dip their beaks into the nectar.

Although it’s situated deep inside the branches of a tree on my patio, the hummers have had no trouble finding it, and they dart in and out all day. I’ve just ordered another feeder, and I plan to place it in the same tree.

The Hummizinger is sturdy, well designed and well worth the price — you really do get what you pay for.

These birds have given me an immeasurable amount of pleasure. I sit on my patio just to watch these amazing creatures, which often hover for a few moments right in front of me. Perhaps it’s their way of saying “thank you,” but it is I who should be thanking them.

I strongly recommend the Aspect hummingbird hummzinger bird feeder. It is the only hummingbird feeder that is very easy to clean. It even comes with its own cleaning brush. This is important , because hummingbirds can catch a disease from dirty feeders that destroys their beak, and they starve to death. It also has an ant guard. Also , I would like the thank Dbroth for their quick and courteous service. I am very impressed. Liz

This is nice and easy to clean. We got this feeder so that we could feed more birds at once. I don’t know why, but I seem to get better results with my long red plastic feeder, maybe we just didn’t get as many birds this year. This is also much easier to clean than the long type.

    Keeps out bugs!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this feeder after having lots of trouble with bees, wasps, and spiders in my previous bottle-style feeder. This feeder has worked wonderfully, and all the bees and wasps quickly gave up trying to get food from this feeder, even without the included “NectarGuard” tips on the inside of the feeding holes. The built-in ant moat has also been successful so far at keeping out spiders, plus it has built-in overflow holes to prevent it from overfilling due to rain. The low-profile shape reduces wind resistance so it doesn’t swing around too much, although it should be noted that the wide, shallow nectar basin will still spill if tilted far enough. I haven’t had it spill once so far, though. The feeding ports have a slot cut into them as they extend downwards, so the birds’ beaks won’t get stuck in the holes, a problem on some other feeders. The plastic base is some sort of acrylic, not polycarbonate as some other reviews suggested, so I can’t speak to the longevity of it yet. However, it is sturdy, simple, and easy to assemble/disassemble, with no gaskets or wetted junctions where it might leak. Cleaning is the best of any hummingbird feeder I have ever seen… the top comes off, and the two halves of the unit are completely open and exposed for cleaning.. couldn’t be easier. The hanging hook is very sturdy, brass, and balances the feeder well. There also is an option to post-mount it instead, but I haven’t tried it. Birds seem to like it, especially without having to fight wasps all the time.

This is the best hummingbird feeder. It is easy to use, comes with a great recipe, and it is bringing all the little birdies to the yard (much to the annoyance to my inside cats!)This is a great product, keep up the good work.

This is one of the best hummingbird feeders I’ve come across! First, it doesn’t take large amount of nectar to fill, and then waste, because most of it wasn’t eaten after a week; second, the nectar is held in because there is no gravity pushing the nectar on openings or seams making it drip out, as in the “bottle” types; third, it’s incredibly easy to dismount, dismantle and clean – just pop the red top off; fourth, it has a built in insect moat; and fifth, the new nectar guards, if you choose to install, really do dissuade the wasps, bees, etc. from hanging around, and the hummingbirds had no trouble adapting to them.

The only thing I would improve would be to give the moat more capacity – in direct sun it dries out in a few days, so water needs to be replaced to be effective.

    My Hummzinger
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have had dozens of Hummingbird feeders but never one as good as this Hummzinger. Before I got the Hummzinger I was feeding the ants and bees more than the Hummingbirds. The bees would actually chase the birds away from the feeder. I bet I had dozens of bees around feeder at all times. I saw this Hummzinger and thought what have I got to lose so I ordered it and I LOVE IT…..no more ants and no more bees.. The Hummingbirds love it and so do I. This is by far the best investment I have made this year. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to feed the birds and not the bees or ants. Great product. This would make the perfect gift for anyone who feeds Hummingbirds..I will be giving as gifts and hope someone gets me another one as a gift…hint, hint…lol

Got rid of the yellow jackets!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
At the end of each summer I have swarms of yellow jackets take over my hummingbird feeders and the little buggers chase the hummers away.

    This year I had enough!

After a little online research and reading other reviews of the Hummzinger Ultra product I decided to try it out.

I put up the Hummzinger and the hummingbirds figured it out within hours (even with the little rubber tip guards installed). I watched day after day as number of yellow jackets around the Hummzinger decreased. After a week there were ZERO yellow jackets hanging around!

If you have yellow jacket issues you must get this feeder!

I’ve also noticed that the hummers will even sit on this feeder every so often, where as on my old feeders they fed and flew away. Another unexpected benefit has been the Hummzinger feeder has been much easier to clean than my old feeders.

I’m buying a second Hummzinger in the winter to replace my other feeder – so I’ll be ready for the spring!

    Super Feeders!!

I bought two of these and will probably buy another this coming summer. These are great. They don’t hold gallons of feed so you can change the feed every few days and not waste much. My Hummers took to them right away and NO ANTS in my feeders. Wonderful product & a great buy.

    Best hummingbird feeder ever!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve been using this Aspects Hummzinger Ultra (as well as the Excel) since August ’06. In my opinion, these Hummzinger feeders are the best, and I’ve tried over a dozen others.

The Hummzinger feeders are a breeze to fill, hang, and clean; no bottle brush necessary! And the EASY recipe for the best hummingbird nectar is printed on the under-side of the feeder. How convenient is that? In addition, they have perches for the hummers to rest on while feeding, so that they don’t burn up all the calories they’re trying to consume while hovering around the feeder.

I love the brass hanging rod; it prevents the feeder from tilting and dripping when the birds all sit on one side of it. These are the ONLY feeders I’ve ever had where the hummers will perch and feed together in groups. I frequently see 3 to 6 birds on my feeders at once since I started using using the Hummzingers; this never happened even with the largest of the other feeders I’ve tried. Could be coincidental, but…

The feeder can either be hung from its included hook or mounted on a garden stake/post. When hanging, these feeders are very stable in the wind compared to others, so they don’t drip. And the ant moat really does keep ants out of the nectar when the feeder is hanging! (I don’t think it would help as much if the feeder was mounted on a post.)

Best of all, contrary to what some others have written, the hummingbirds around here (the San Francisco Bay area) seem to LOVE these feeders. I’m purchasing several as gifts.

    A hummzinger of a feeder
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is a great feeder no doubt. It is the easiest to clean and refill that I’ve seen. And the bright red makes the hummers go crazy. Mine have become more territorial, and they feed more often now.

Initially I had some concerns that the feeder would need to be almost completely full in order for the hummers to be able to extract any nectar (the feeder is rather deep). Turns out the little guys have pretty long tongues, so they can reach far into the feeder, even when it is close to being empty.

    Can’t beat the lifetime guarantee.

My only gripe is that small ants can still get inside even with the nectar guard tips in place. In my case, the ants are pretty bad, even more so than with my last feeder which had basically no protection at all.
