MUST HAVE HUMMINGBIRD FEEDER! Better than other feeders!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is truely a must have feeder! Its so much better than the similar plastic feeders.

I had been using the plastic ones for several years but this year we had a huge amount of hummers coming to our windows and I was at a point of filling the feeders up twice a day and the plastic ones couldn’t handle the use I was giving them..I needed something better and found these here on Amazon! I am thrilled with their quality and great price. I appreciate that they are glass containers and they screw on verses the plastic ones that you have to squeeze the two tabs together to get apart & fill up..the tabs were breaking off on my other feeders..they still work with one tab but eventually both tabs on some of my OTHER plastic feeders (the ones you find at W*lm*rt etc) broke off resulting in feeders that wouldn’t work.

Like I said these feeders are a glass container, plastic base and the glass screws onto the base..much easier to take apart and nothing to break. They are held onto the window with suction cups and they are STRONG..I was a little worried with the hummer juice making it heavy but they are extremely strong and I NEVER once had one fall and that was with 2x a day fillings! I am extremely pleased with these..I ordered 4 of these this past summer and plan to order more and eventually replace all of the similar style plastic ones.

A great value and EXTREMELY great quality!!!

I liked the sturdiness of this feeder. The only part I did not like was the fact that I can’t take the feeder off the suction cups as I am supposed to be able to. I have to take all of it off each time I fill it.

    Great window mounted feeder
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars

I read all of the reviews. I’m not sure why some people don’t like this feeder. I have had dozens of hummingbird feeders over the years and this one works great for me. The trick is to clean the window before mounting. Wash the unit in warm water for the birdies and apply to the window when almost dry. If you “press” on the cups using the glass jar the cups will hold better. Mine stay up despite weather conditions and the hummingbirds love it. I suppose some people are never happy with new ideas but this is a must buy for the bird enthusiast. Fast delivery, good price with friendly Amazon customer service if you need it. If it didn’t work or the quality was not so good I would say it. This is a sturdy glass feeder and it works so why should I complain?

    Not self feeding?
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Got mine yesterday and cleaned it,soaked the cups as described, put it on the patio door and hummers were all over it. Unfortunately it didn’t take long for them to stop coming. When I went out to look at it, the base was almost dry but the bottle was full so that tells me that it is not self feeding. I loosened the bottle from the base just slightly so that the base could fill back up then retightened it and the hummers were back in force until it went dry again.Just have to keep going out and loosening the base from the bottle a couple of times a day.

It took the hummingbirds in my back yard about a week to find this feeder, but once they did they use it every day now. I was worried about the suction cups being strong enough to hold this glass feeder, but don’t sweat it, they are plenty strong – no worries there.

I think there is something to the red and yellow colors working to attract the hummingbirds too, because I had it hung on the window empty for a couple weeks before I got around to making the nectar for the first time and there were hummingbirds scoping it out while it was empty. Hmph…

Also, don’t bother buying expensive hummingbird nectar to fill this thing; I just Googled hummingbird nectar to get this recipe: 1C water to 1/4C sugar. Heat the water so the sugar melts in it, wait for it to cool and fill the feeder. You can store the extra in the fridge, just don’t use anything but natural sugar – no Splenda or Nutrasweet! (like you didn’t know that already)

Now I’ve got hummingbirds at my window everyday, they are so cute to watch!

I received this otherwise fine unit without the needed suction cups to apply to a window. I contacted the company and they responded, but then, nothing. The feeder is unusable and worthless.

I recommend buying nothing from this distributor.

    Best priced window feeder
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This feeder isn’t perfect, but it’s the least expensive window feeder with a decent capacity. I have three of these feeders and have no complaints about them. The fill hole is a bit small, but still big enough to get a bottle brush in. The feeder base is easy to clean. The suction cups probably don’t work for people because they are not affixing it properly. You’re supposed to moisten the suction cups, stick them onto the glass, then slide the feeder downward into the suction cup holder and it clicks into place. I’ve never had a feeder fall off the glass.

The only complaint I have about this product is that it is quite difficult to clean as the fill hole is quite small. I managed to use a straw to scrape off anything that might have stuck to the inside though.. so I am happy with the product for the most part..

We purchased this 14 oz./370 ml glass window hummingbird feeder and it does not work. We have tried every which way to make the suction cups work and they do not stay on the window. The instructions indicated that the bracket would detach from the bottle but that was not the case. We will not be buying a product by this company again. Also, the company makes it impossible to reach them on their stated web address.

    Very Disappointed
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I have had other window feeders and this one was very disappointing. First of all the plastic around the suction cups was too thick to let the suction cup stick to the window. Could not even use the feeder on the window. Tried using the flowers in my old feeder and the hummingbird would not even use the feeder with these flowers in it. They may be too deep. It was a real waste of money. Might as well throw it out. Should be receiving a refund.

    Hopelessly badly designed
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
All of the reviews criticizing the design are correct. The link between the bottle and the suction cup assembly is fatally flawed. On the feeder I received, the glass blob and the runners on the suction cup frame fit together so tightly that there’s no way to get the feeder off the frame when it’s stuck to a window. Once it’s on the window you have to wrestle the entire assembly off to refill, and then go through the tortuous process of remounting the suction cups. Good news/bad news – the feeder is so cheap that it’s not worth paying the postage to send it back. Despite the much higher cost, I think the only maker of hummingbird feeders worth buying is Aspects.

some design flaws but works nicely
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I’ve have window mount hummingbird feeders of various brands for several years and love them. In agreement with other reviewers, this feeder could use some improvements, but overall I think it’s better than the all-plastic feeders.

The reservoir cylinder is glass, which makes it heavy, but durable. The plastic base is stronger and of better quality plastic than the other feeders.

If you follow the mounting instructions, the suction cups stay on the window just fine – mine has withstood torrential storms and gale winds. However, NONE of these feeders will last more than a couple of seasons if they are exposed to sun and elements.

One design flaw of this feeder is the very narrow neck opening on the glass cylinder, requiring that I first pour the liquid (boiled water and plain sugar, NO DYES!) into a glass measuring cup with a pouring spout (or you could use a funnel). Cleaning is also not easy because of the narrow neck.

There are some reviewers’comments about inadequate suction cups. I just got a new one and it does seem like the suction cups are smaller than my previous one, but I don’t have the old one on hand to compare. In any case, I got larger suction cups at the hardware store (pennies each), easy to put replace, and work great.

All of these feeders require regular cleaning, as the sugar water is a good medium for growth of lots of things. And all of these feeders will get ants and bees to some degree.

Hummingbirds are very territorial, and I have never seen more than one at a time at my feeder. Put one up in the same place and at the same time each year, and they will keep coming back.

    Enjoy

I never had a problem with this falling off the window as others have said. It was hard to get the bottle off of the window without pulling the suction cups off, too, though, when it needed refilling. Otherwise, it provided a lot of entertainment watching the hummingbirds come right up to the window to feed.

I love to see the hummingbirds sit on this feeder right outside my window. It is great. Easy to clean and sticks to the glass very well. It is a glass feeder, not plastic. I like the glass better as it does not form as much mold inside and it is easier to clean then plastic.

    Too heavy for suction cups
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I’ve got several different kinds of hummingbird feeders. I bought this one because I like to see the hummingbirds rest. I very carefully followed the *extensive* installation instructions on the suction cups (boiling, finger oils, washing the window), and then hung it up. About 10 seconds later it fell down, smashing the red plastic feeder unit completely. I replaced it with a lighter, all-plastic feeder whose suction cups held it solidly to the window all summer: Woodstream 217 Window Mount Hummingbird Feeder.

Great Feeder – suction works fine
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have had this feeder for 2 years and NEVER had any problems getting it to stay on the window. The hummingbirds LOVE it and it is so nice to see them so close. We have a tree feeder too but I think they like the window one best. Mine is on a north window to keep the hot afternoon sun off the nectar so maybe that also helps with the suction. Not sure, but I never have a problem and dont go thru any elaborate procedure. Just give it some good pressure directly on the back of the suction cup and wait a bit before loading the bottle.

Just ordered 3 more for myself and friends.

Works as advertised. Held through Hurricane Ike!!!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have read some of the negative reviews of this product about the suction cups not holding. If you follow the directions exactly as they are given in the book the suction cups will hold. I live in Houston Texas and I recently put up my feeder on one of my windows about 2 weeks before a hurricane hit our city. On the eve of the hurricane I removed the sliding glass feeding portion and left the suction cups on the window. It has been well over a week since the storm hit and not only did the cups stay on the window but the feeder is still holding onto the window as before. I think I might have saved some hummingbirds too because from the day after the storm hit until just recently I have had about 6 or 7 hummingbirds fighting each other to get food. I’m sure all of their primary sources of food were blown away by the storm. So it does work. And one last thing. Don’t buy the nectar stuff that is sold separately because its a waste of money. Just boil 4 cups of water with 1 cup of sugar in a pan and pour it in the feeder. And make sure it cools down before you add it into the feeder.

I had purchased the Perky Pet Hummingbird Feeder on a different occasion and thought I would get another as the Perky Pet window mounted was such an attraction for hummingbirds. Unfortunately, the Opus model did not adhere to the window very well (and yes we did try using hot water on the suction cups.) I recommend getting the Perky Pet to those who want a no fuss feeder.

    careful preparation equals great results
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This feeder requires careful preparation- i.e. the window suface should be cleaned throughly (with amonia) and allowed to dry before affixing the suction cups. Add the sugar solution, slde on the fixture AND the hummingbirds were there within ONE hour!

Every week remove the unit and clean with vinegar soulution , replace with fresh sugar water and those little birds will return for many more hours of enjoyment-

    beats watching most TV Shows!

My wife , family ( grand kids) and I are delighted with this product. think that it is terrific addition to dining room window!

  28. Concerned City-zen on Mon, 2nd Aug 2010 12:00 am

Holds up fine. Obstructed view, though.
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Following the instructions of many reviewers, especially “Cyberchuck”, the feeder adhered to the window quite securely. It’s a well designed and well-made product. There were hummingbirds feeding at it within an hour.

UPDATE THAT WOULD HAVE LOWERED IT TO 3 STARS: One thing to note is that, as you can see from the photo, the feeding “flowers” are placed pretty much at what will be the back of the feeder when viewed from inside your window, which cuts off much of the view of the birds when they’re feeding. Unless you’re positioned directly next to it, expect one or the other “flower” to be out of view.

    A Year Later:

Due to neglect on my part in not re-adhering one of the suction cups to the window (it actually holds quite well with just the top cup, but evidently not forever…) the feeder fell and broke, so I shopped for another, and ended up with the Aspects Jewel Box Window Hummingbird Feeder model, and wish that I had done so long ago, simply because of ease of use.

The main trouble that you’ll run into with this one is cleaning it, which needs to be done frequently because mold builds up both in the bottle and in the base. That’s natural with sugar-water in the sun and will happen with any feeder. You need an extra-long bottle brush to clean this one’s bottle, and the neck is so narrow that it’s difficult to get into and out of and to manipulate the brush. And fully cleaning the base is frustrating and impossible unless you pull the “flowers” off and take it totally apart (2 deeply set Phillips head screws).

The Jewel Box model has a lid which opens for filling just as simple as can be. The whole unit easily lifts off the suction cup “stand”. Best of all, there is no obstruction to viewing the birds, and the tank is even clear so that you can actually watch their tongues dipping into the liquid if you get close enough. There’s probably any number of equally good feeders out there, but I suggest looking the Jewel Box’s features and going from there. This one has too many issues.

This feeder is ok. My only complaint on this one is the plastic that encases the suction cups. You can’t grip the suction cups because of the plastic around them and the plastic sticks out away from the feeder itself so you can push in to make the suction cups grip. I did get them to grip, but one time it didn’t grip well like i thought and the feeder fell off the window. I like the other window feeders better that only have 1 suction cup at the top with no plastic around it.

    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I needed a part for my Perky Pet window mount feeder; now that’s a piece of junk. They wanted to charge me $6 for the part and $10 shipping. So I bought this Opus feeder instead and now I’m buying another one because it is ten times better than the Perky Pet Plastic Junk. If you follow the instructions for mounting the feeder to your window, you will have no problem keeping it there. I put mine up immediately and it’s been there ever since. The photo doesn’t do the feeder justice. It’s very detailed and provides a more realistic flower for the birds to poke at. And there is absolutely no leaking, which is always an issue with the junkier Perky Pet feeder. But then I won’t be buying that brand anymore when I can get a higher quality OPUS product for the same price.

Great Feeder – Read the Instructions!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was hesitant to buy this feeder, having read several reviews stating the difficulty in getting it to attach and stay attached to the window. All I can say is that if you can read and follow simple instructions this is no problem at all. This item is well constructed and holds fast to my window. The bracket that some reviewers have complained interferes with adherence, actually helps stabilize the feeder so it won’t wobble on the suction cups. The trick is to clean the cups well and to remove the feeder from the bracket from the bracket before attaching the bracket. This is a simple and sensible method. The bottle is easy to detach and reattach. My hummingbirds found the feeder within 3 hours of mounting it. They found it despite the fact that I had previously had no feeder at our house. I bought it because I noticed them searching around the house looking for food. I would not hesitate to buy another and actually might do so for the other side of our home.

I am changing my feedback to 4 stars instead of 1 after reading another feedback left here on Amazon…I could not get both of my suction cups to stick to the window. But, I also did not remove the bracket and simply tried to hang the entire feeder. After reading another feedback here, I removed the bottle from the bracket and pressed on both suction cups from inside the bracket — it worked! I still feel the bottle may be too heavy, so I will avoid filling it completely. But, my hummers really like it and use it regularly. I just hope it does not fall off and kill a bird as written in other feedback left here. Make sure to read quite a few reviews on this feeder before deciding.

*Note: it is much easier to fill any hummingbird feeder using a funnel!

This feeder has allowed me to finally attract hummingbirds to my office window! (I’d tried numerous other models.) It’s very nice, heavy-duty quality, which made me a little concerned about how well it would adhere to the window. It has stayed on just fine and refilling the glass cannister is so easy… you just slide the bottle out and back in (no need to disturb the suction cups). I would highly recommend this feeder to others!

Works very well, will be buying more of these
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
These work very well. I’ve got four of them, and they’re now into their second season and still going strong. These are much better than the Perky Pet window feeders which look similar: The tabs holding the two pieces of the Perky Pet feeder break easily and they also leak around the joint, which means they’re always covered with bees and wasps which chase the hummers away. Neither of those is a problem with this feeder.

As far as sticking the suction cup to the window, I’ve never had a problem. Here’s my process: 1, Clean the window with Windex. 2, Clean the suction cup with soap and water. 3, Pour a little boiling water over the suction cup to soften it. 4, Rub the suction cup on your nose! Sounds gross, but the little bit of skin oil it picks up will make it stick very well to the window. 5, Press the suction cups firmly to the window, wait a few minutes, and then mount the feeder. NOTE: You don’t press on the bracket, you must stick your finger through the hole in the bracket and press on the center of the suction cup.

These feeders are sturdy, easy to clean, the hummingbirds love them and bees don’t. I’m going to buy a couple more. Highly recommened.

    Fatal Flaw in Design
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
While it seems intuitively obvious, I nonetheless read the instructions on how to mount this. Then I did what it said: cleaned the window, attached the suction cups to the feeder, wet the cups and pressed it against the window. Only problem is this: the plastic rim on the back of the unit around the suction cups prevents you from firmly pressing the cups against the window. Result: the unit stayed put for less than 30 minutes before falling off and breaking into sticky mess.

Something in the design or installation of this unit needs to change.

This is the best hummer feeder I’ve ever had, because you can get so close to them. The reviewers that stated the plastic frame prevents the suction cups from adhering didn’t follow the instructions for installing it properly. Admittedly, the instructions are poor. But if you follow them correctly, it works well with a strong bond. I gave one to my parents for Christmas. They hung it up Christmas day and within a few hours, there were several hummingbirds feasting on it. It isn’t the easiest feeder to refill, but it is worth the trouble to get such a close look at these fascinating little birds. All my friends that see this want one.

The only problem I had was the shipping. I had ordered 4 feeders. Each came in a seperate box. Three came in square boxes leaving plenty of room for external impacts. The 4th came in a thinner box and arrived broken. Why they used a different box is beyond me. I did get a refund but really wanted 4 feeders. The feeders themselves are great. The birds love them. They attach to the window very tightly. If you install the suction cups first there should be no problems with them staying put. They also have a larger opening in the base(where the bottle attaches) than most feeders. This will make cleaning the base much easier.

Please note when you attach it to a window remove the glass feeder and attatch the hanger part first. You can get to the suction cups and press them firmly against the window. Then you can place the glass feeder into the slot next. I would also recommend don’t push the glass feeder all the way to the bottom. If you try to attach the feeder to the window with the glass attached it doesn’t work.

I purchased this for my mother and she loves it. You can really see them very close up with this feeder. They are amazing. Note if you have lights on during dusk it may scare the hummingbirds away. Also if you have other bird feeders in the area it also seems to scare the little fellows away.

We have also found that you need to put this out in the early spring so they know it there. The first year we put it out mid-late summer and didn’t attract any hummingbirds. After 3 years the sun has finally taken its toll on the plastic hanger part and I’ll be buying her a new one for Christmas this year!

I received this product today, and because of the frame work that is around the suction cups, it is virtually impossible to press this on any window or french door. What were they thinking? Poor product. I will go out shopping tomorrow, and purchase something else. A total waste of money!

A couple of years ago, a friend gave me one of these feeders and I loved it. It is so much fun to have the little hummers come right up to the window. But recently I put sugar water that was too hot into the feeder and it broke. Yup……not tempered glass. So when I saw the good price Amazon had on this wonderful way to watch hummingbirds, I ordered two. They arrived today but oh my, they aren’t up to the quality of the original one. The suction cups are ridiculously flimsy. Thank goodness I had saved the cups from my original feeder so I was able to start using one feeder right away. But only after I spent a very long time trying to get the bottle out of the plastic bracket which seems to be made more poorly also! Never had a problem with my gift feeder! I notice that these 2 feeders were made in China. I don’t know if the first one was but it was definitely better made. With all the problems with Chinese products lately, I think I will start checking the source of all my purchases!

With the feeders out there like this one, I believe this one is the best. The plastic versions of this type of feeder have two weak plastic clips on the back that break very easily. This feeder is very sturdy and has held up very well.

    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love this feeder. I had read others’ experience with the suction cups not holding, so I made sure to check them before I walked away from the feeder… The trick is to use very warm/hot water on the suction cups. This will help to produce a very tight seal that will hold a full feeder. The best part of this feeder is the hummingbirds stop moving, sit down and have a snack. Now I need them to get used to me watching them so I can get a great picture!

Only buy this if you dont want to stick it onto a window with the suction cups. the plastic piece that holds the cups in place prevent the cups from gaining full contact with the glass, so I was unable to stick it to my window!! That said, I can still use it by just setting it on a shelf on my balcony. It works fine this way and the birds still come to drink. I am satisfied with that, but do not buy this if you really want to use it as it is described “suction cupped to window” The design does not allow this type of attachment.

Nice feeder, but has some issues, but READ THE DIRECTIONS
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The supply bottle is too large. With birds coming ever 10 minutes or so, after 3 days, the level is only down an inch (which is when the food needs to be changed). So dont waste your food by filling it up.

I ordered 2 (recommended for all hummingbird feeders), so that I could rotate them while one was being cleaned, and found that both leak at the seal around the center. Not enough for concern…one drip per couple hours, but it did attract ants on the deck.

The two feeder “flowers” face outward…makes for seeing the birds clearly through the glass, a little difficult.

For those of you having difficulty sticking it to the window, its obvious you didnt read the directions…mine has been stuck in the same place for over 2 years now…READ THE MOUNTING DIRECTIONS, AND FOLLOW THEM EXACTLY!

Otherwise, it works well, and attracted birds right away, and often.

Note: Do NOT color your water as shown in the illustration…its is not good for the birds, and is not needed to attract them…they can see one square inch of red from over a half mile.

Glass Window Mounted Hummingbird Feeder in Use
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RLBH9OMLB24R8 A window mounted feeder lets you get a close view of visitors. I make my own nectar without coloring it. I spit on the suction cups to make them stick. The mount stayed up all summer with no problems. 2008 is the second season I’ll use this; the video is from 2007. Fill the feeder from a liquid measuring cup, or a small pitcher. You’ll need something with a “lip.” Attach the bottom (with the container upside-down) by positioning the flowers on the opposite side from the mounting ridge. Turn till the tabs line up. To mount the feeder, turn it upright, grasp by the glass container, and slide the ridge down into the slot on the mount. To remove, slide the feeder up. Leave the mount on the window until you need to remove it. It’s not necessary to take it off for refills.

Contrary to some of the reviews I read on this product, I found it easy to use and install. The birds are attracted to the red base and they feed from the openings without any problems. I did not have problem securing this to the window. Just be sure you press each suction cup onto the window securely before adding the glass portion. Easy to add or change the nectar. I recommend the product. Jan

    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
There seems to be a stick/no-stick debate here…

You know how when you are putting a suction cup on something, you have to press it in and then it kind of pulls away a little and sucks on? Well, there is hard plastic all around the suction cups, making the pushing on part somewhat impossible. If it does go on, it’s a very heavy, thick glass feeder, so I doubt it’ll stay there.

I wanted a glass hummingbird feeder and decided to try this one on my window before springing for some of the more glamorous-looking blown glass ones. I mounted it on my kitchen window, under an awning on the northeast side of the house, not at all expecting anything to happen. A ruby-throated hummingbird found it the very first day!

It took some force at first to separate the mounting bracket thing from the feeder itself. In fact, I had to drop it first for it to break loose and detach! Fortunately, nothing broke. I probably could have just soaked it in some hot soapy water and it would have come apart easily.

You can’t beat glass. I’m just totally getting away from plastic these days….

I have been buying plastic hummingbird feeders that attach to the window so I can have an up-close view of my favorite birds. I found this wonderful GLASS feeder that will not deteriorate and get brittle (I had to replace the plastic ones every year). I was concerned that it would be too heavy, but the suction cups are very effective, and the feeder was accepted immediately by all the hummingbirds. Right now there is snow on the ground, temperatures below freezing at night, and I still have a faithful hummer visiting every day when it gets warm enough for him (her?) to move around. GREAT PRODUCT!

very good feeder if you read the directions
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I too had trouble at first and gave this feeder a bad review but after fully reading the directions the brackett with suction cups separates from the bottle . I suggest you clean the window fully , which I did and it has never come down , been up for at least a month. When you refill hold the brackett in place with one hand and slide the bottle up and off with the other. It also does not leak. Since the brackett separates from the bottle it is very easy to apply suction cups to window. Forget all that about rubbing the suction cups with friction to make it stick.

    Poor design-avoid!
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Well, I ordered this online as we couldn’t find any window-mounted feeders locally. It’s lasted exactly two weeks. The problem is the extremely weak design: the 14oz glass feeder is fairly heavy-too heavy to stay attached to any glass with two measly suction cups, as this has. There are somewhat strange instructions with this model, directing the user to “rub” the suction cups for several minutes in order to (supposedly) build up a proper “suction”-then the glass slides into a groove; well, the thing worked at first-until I had to slide out the glass bottle portion to refill it. I did it as gingerly as I could, not disturbing my preciously attached suction cups, refilled it(only halfway!)-and replaced it. About 4 minutes went by-and then the entire thing-glass, suction cups, everything-fell to our deck, breaking into a million thick glass shards…frustrating me, the hummers-and our two dogs, banished from the outside until I could clean up this mess. What a crummy product! And overpriced-although I wouldn’t buy it again for two cents. Beware!

I’m about to buy my second replacement, after the glass cracked on the first two. Quality is very low, but the ability to put this feeder right on our kitchen window is wonderful and our children adore it. If I could find any similar product from another manufacturer, I’d buy it instead.

The Hummingbirds at our place love these feeders. You can sit at your window and watch them fighting over them, or watch them feeding. They quickly get used to your presence. They also help to let the birds know there is a window there, so it serves two purposes.

I was really looking forward to this, I love hummingbirds. The first came and I found that the glass part had broken area where it attaches to the suction cup holder. So….I tried again and this time it appeared intact. Until I filled it with the liquid and hung it on the holder and the glass broke out(just a small piece but that’s all it takes) in the exact same place as the previous one. Has to be a defect in manufacturing. Was a very big disappointment.

    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I just received my Opus hummingbird feeder the other day. I am very pleased with it! I was a bit skeptical after read some of the reviews, but I’m glad I got it. It’s very easy to mount to the window. The bracket has openings so you can press the suction cups firmly against the glass and slide the feeder into place. It’s fun to watch the lil’ hummers come to the living room window and it’s a nice addition to my other feeders. For the price it is well worth it. I have a plastic window feeder; it’s been ok and served the purpose, but this one is good quality and I’m thinking about buying another one. Every product has its share of lemons; this one may not be the exception, but over all I would recommend it to the hummingbird fans out there.

A Perfect Way to see Hummingbirds
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is one of my favorite feeders, because it’s right there in front of your nose! Hummingbirds are very fast. I’ve gone entire years only seeing one sighting that year because I wasn’t sitting by the feeder when they happened to come by. By sticking the feeder where it is always visible, that little movement will catch your eye, and you’ll probably see them daily! I know I do!

Because it’s made of glass, and not plastic like the normal seed-feeders, it is on the heavy side and needs to be attached securely. I read some reviews where people had trouble connecting it. I found it quite easy, just clean the glass, oil the cups a bit and press. It’s stayed up for years without any problem.

I also read some reviews where people said they had trouble filling it. Just about EVERY hummingbird feeder I have has a small exit area – otherwise the nectar wouldn’t come out slowly! A funnel is 39 cents and makes filling *very* easy.

I have 10+ hummingbird feeders and this is by far the best for consistant hummingbird viewing.

REALLY Poor Quality Junk But Works (So Far)
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I ordered two, and between them I had one good working one. Additionally, the glass arrived broken on one of them (zero shipping damage). It is not tempered glass like Amazon.com states. Mine also didn’t look like Amazon.com’s pictures.

Numerous design and quality problems include defective suction cups, the filler hole in the glass is about 3/8″ (difficult to fill; impossible to clean), the red base has white stress/stretch marks. The bracket design is such that you can’t press the suction cups onto the glass well without breaking the plastic.

In summary, it is real …. Don’t expect it to last, so buy two (one for spare parts).

On the positive side, however, it doesn’t leak (yet), and the quality of the Perky Pet feeders that I have bought locally is just as bad. The Perky Pet feeders leak (attracting colonies of ants), and they break after 6 months too.

One of the screws that keeps the casing together was lose and the nectar leaked — attracting countless ants! To fix it all I had to do is tigthen the screw. The one that I received doesn’t look the same as the one pictured online. It seems to be much bulkier at the part where the birds feed.
Well, let’s see if the hummers like it!

I have owned one of these feeders for several years. We mount it on the breakfast room window. When I broke it, I couldn’t find one in local stores. Nothing else brings as much pleasure as watching hummingbirds dance, display, and fight for position around the feeder “up close and personal” then light and sip. After a while, they seem to get used to our movement and will sit even while we are eating just a few feet away from them. I am glad to find a source, and will pick up some for my relatives and friends as gifts.

It is made of glass instead of the other cheap plastic ones and is very attractive too. I ordered my feeder in july and really thought i wouldn’t get any hummingbirds because I thought i was too late to have an established feeding area, but i was wrong ,,I hung the feeder on the windown and within an hour I had my first hummingbird feeding out of it , I have 2 birds that now come to my feeder on a regular basis, they are beautiful.
