Good looking but not long lasting.
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Me and my husband received these knives as a gift for our wedding in July of 2005. We have had them for almost 5 years now. My overall impression of these knives is that they are a great looking set, maybe even a great starter set for some people like they were for me but, as others have stated they do tend to rust easily, they get dull pretty easily (after sharpening them they get dull within a week of use), over the past year the rubber on the handles has started to come off and crumble so, after 4 1/2 years I am looking for new set of knives.

Henckels Fine Edge Indeed!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
An incredibly sharp set of knives, is a heavy block. There are 11 knives, a sharpener and the block to make the entire set of 13. It was a great gift to give.

Great knives…but what is with the extra slots?
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I purchased 35 sets of these knifes for an event where they were used as centerpieces. Of the 35 sets, 12 of them were missing misc. knifes. Additionally, the knife block has slots for 13 knifes, but only 11 knifes come with the set. It is called a 13 piece set; however, the block itself and the sharpening rod are counted as part of the 13 pieces. Very misleading for the consumer.

I agree w/ J. Almand…NOT Henckels quality!! CHINA!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
These knives are not the quality of REAL J.A. Henckels knives!! To be quite honest I’m surprised they would put their reputable name on them! Sharp, yes but that’s about where it ends. Two of the knives in my set were warped; e.g. you slice straight down and the knife veers off to one side! The chopping knives are not well balanced. Upon arrival the some of the blades had stains or blemishes. I will say the best feature are the steak knives..razor sharp and cut flawlessly.

Good Knives
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
These are very good if you get them on sale. They do lose their sharpness quite quickly and tend to rust. Don’t ever put them in the dishwasher.

Excellent Value for the Money
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
First off before you go off and buy this knife set you have to realize this is the cheap version of the J.A. Henckels….hence the International. Although Amazon description says High Grade German Steel it is not. These knifes are made in China.
Some reviews here people complain of rusting ect. Now these knifes might indeed rust, but some care must be taken with them. I have had mine over 1 year now, and they have held up perfectly. I cant complain. I have taken good care of my knifes. They dont go in the dish washer, they dont stay wet very long soaking in the sink. I use them, wash and dry them and keep them sharp. The are still a very sharp
I have used and held the high end Henckels and these are a far cry from them…but so is the price. You will pay $300 or more. Twin Cuisine is a very very nice set, feels heavy and solid. The Fine edge synergy are light and thin, almost feel like they might break. Not a knife you want to take with you to a knife fight. However for the price they cant be beat. If your looking for Henckles high quality knifes go spend the extra money and dont get the International version. If your looking for a cheap good knife set that will last a long time with extra care, you cant go wrong with this set.
I dont regret ever buying this set however next time I will get a set like the Twin Cuisine’s.

Made in China

These looked ok but were poor quality for the price. The edge didnt last long and I was dissapointed to find out that these were made in China.

What a disappointment…
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I purchased these knives hoping that they would be the quality that I expect from the Henckels name….NOPE! The handles are great…the blades are not. Mine are rusting and I have never put them in the dishwasher. Not one time. I am careful to wash them asap, just to avoid rusting, but it doesn’t seem to matter.
Truly a disappointment for the money spent.

Stylish but rusted!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
These knives work fine, and are certainly sleek and stylish in the kitchen, but the blades rusted after just a few uses. I cleaned them as directed.

Nice set!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a nice set. It comes with all the knives you really need. They are pretty sharp. I love the handle. Very comfortable to use. It looks good in the counter. There are many more that are probably better but this does the job and the price is about right for the set.

Rusting Stainless Steel???
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I didn’t realize stainless would rust, I own other stainless products that are 20 years old and they have never rusted, not one spot. After 1 week 4 of the knives have rusted. I should have known you get what you pay for as these are the low end Henckels made in China.

Great Basic Set

This knife set is perfect for someone who is looking for a great basic knife set. The knifes are light weight and very sharp. Very good product.

good set for the price
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I waited a year and a half to buy new knives, and these are the knives i finally got. They work well and I don’t have to sharpen them all the time, but they are getting rust spots. I don’t put them in the dishwasher, and I always hand wash them shortly after I use them, so I expected them to hold up a little better. They do their job, rusty or not, so I’m not complaining, I just expected a little more out of J.A. Henckels. I bought them on sale, so I guess I got what I paid for.

It has the Henkels name but, NOT the quality!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I read the reviews before buying this knife set for my girlfriend as a gift. let me just say you get what you pay for. These are obviously stamped blades with “Made in China” on each of the blades. These are not the forged Henkels quality knifes you would buy from a kitchen store or reputable knife shop. They are very light and seem delicate. The blades are sharp and it gets the job done but, I dont see these knifes lasting more than a year or so. I wish I had spent the extra money on a better set.

I was concerned that I would get a cheap set at this price but I was wrong. Very sharp and great for every day use. If you are looking for a nice set without spending a fortune this is it.

Henckels Fine Edge Synergy 13-Piece Block Set ok product
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Knives are sharp,I’ll give them that and they look nice however kinda of cheap as made in china and not what I expected from Hennckle. One of the steak knife tips already broke off and if they are left wet they get rust spots quick.
like I said and ok product, guess you get what you pay for…

A Fine (Edged) Set
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This was a gift from our wedding registry. And I did read the less than impressive reviews of the set and yet decided to go with it – 1) because of the price, (2) these received the relatively better reviews for a Henckels set (3) one-piece stamped steel construction. My husband was in the restaurant suply business for 7 years, and he is no fan of the Henckels International line but I succumbed to the draw of the little man (in the co. logo) without whom, I believe for the moment, no kitchen is complete. Since we received them, even my skeptical husband has gotten fond of them. They are not ‘cheap looking’, ‘prone to rusting’ (with proper knife handling, of course), ‘thin blade’d, as some have opined here. We don’t have a grand chef’s kitchen operation running at our house and for us, these are great. With low to moderate use, regular hand cleaning and wiping down, they are still like new. They feel just right in terms of weight and look great. We have an extra pair of henckels kitchen shears that we were able to put in the block that had a compartment for it.

Great knives, block could be better
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I’ve had absolutely no problems with the knives themselves (sharp, feel sturdy…) but the plastic block they come with is an eyesore. It’s black and really stands out in a light colored kitchen.

Nice set of knives.

I own a set of Henckels and when my boyfriend moved into a new apartment I knew this would be something he needed to have. They look great and cut way better than most knives. He loves them. Yes, they are not the top of the line version, but definitely a good buy.

Knife set is really nice, not really heavy but not really light. It is just right for the price. I do think the block is rather big, but to each their own. Great set, you just need to purchase the extra two knives to complete the set.

Good knives for the price…
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This knife set is a very nice, low end knife set, and if you are looking for a set around this price, don’t hesitate to move on them. You can also pick up the two piece asian knife set including a santoku (B000FMVS5Y) which will fill the block. The knives can be kept sharp (enough of my blood has spilled to prove it), and they look very nice. The graphite block is aesthetically pleasing, as well.
They don’t have a ton of heft to them, which will give them a “cheap” feeling, but some might prefer that.
I wish they hadn’t put the “made in china” sticker right on the blade in a spot tough to remove it, but what can you do.

I BOUGHT THESE BECAUSE I WANTED TO REPLACE THE SET I WAS CURRENTLY USING MADE UP OF LITTLE BITS OF AT LEAST 12 DIFFERENT SETS ACCUMULATED THROUGH MOVES OVER 10 YEARS. I WANTED SOMETHING THAT MATCHED SO I LOOKED ON AMAZON.COM AND FOUND THESE. I CAN’T SAY THEY’RE THE BEST KNIVES I’VE EVER OWNED BUT THE LOOK COOL ON MY COUNTER. DON’T LET THE NAME FOOL YOU, THESE KNIVES ARE WAY ON THE LOW END OF THE CHART WHEN IT COMES TO CUTLERY.

Great Knives
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was looking for a set of good quality knives as I am upgrading my kitchen equipment and I ran across these in Dillards Dept store. The knives were on sale so I was not sure about them. I was familiar with the brand but didn’t know much. I purchased them and they are wonderful! The Chef’s knife won’t disappoint and I was upset that I had not gotten a set of good knives before it would make my cooking life so much easier. The knives look pretty too with my stainless steel. They are attractive. The blades are so sharp and the steak knives cut steak like it’s butter. I recommend them to anyone looking for a nice set of cutlery.

I love these new knives. However, even though it says *Dishwasher safe–don’t do it. Take really good care of these knives and they will last a life time. The chef’s knife cuts through a lemon like butter…you will really like them.

Best knives I have had
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is my first brand-name knife set purchase. The knives are all very sharp, the grip is comfortable, and the whole set appears to be of good build quality, so I expect it to last for a while. For less than $50, it is a good buy.

Absolute junk
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought these knives based on 2 good reviews, and the Henckels name. That was a huge mistake. The handles are sturdy and a nice quality, but the blades are thin and flimsy. I could buy a better quality knife in the housewares aisle of the local Safeway.
Mine started rusting after the first wash. I have owned them for about ten days, and all the knives have rust spots on the blades now. The box said they were dishwasher safe. NOT!

Great beginner set!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is actually the second set of these knives I’ve bought. The first set was for a Christmas present for a friend last year. After recieving those and having had the chance to use them I decided to purchase a set for myself.
These knives have an excellent design, look very sleek and stylish. Not the most important thing but hey who wants an ugly set of knives cluttering the counter.
They are extremely sharp with a comfortable feel. They have a great balance and weight to them. Some people might not like the rubberized handle design but I personally think they are better than most.
Don’t get me wrong these are not top quality Henckel knives at a cheap price. They are bottom of the line for Henckels branded knives but as I said they are great for a beginner or even moderate chef.

Good knives in general
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
These blades are not made in Germany for anyone who is planning on buying them. It is a misprint in the product details. They are made in China, but they still function just as they should. They are very sharp. I am not a knife expert so I can’t evaluate them as critically, but they do function just as I would hope. They are very sharp upon opening the box.
3 stars just because the blades are Chinese made, not german.
