    Awesome Game For All

This game is a lot different than normal fighting games. If you kill an enemy, they break into lego pieces instead of just “dying”. It provides hours of endless fun and addicting game play. 5 stars!

Call me old fashioned, but when the target of the game is to slice off peoples heads and cut people in half with a light saber, it does not seem to be designed for children.

At $15 shipped this is a great deal.

6 year old nephew loves it.

    Slight warning..

….. you can decapitate characters with your light saber and you see the heads fall off.

But of course they are lego pieces and not really people.

My kids have so much fun with this game. My son is 6. He is obsessed! It is very easy for him to play. I also have two daughters, 14 and 12, who love the game too. They have almost completed the entire game. They get more involved with the game, which makes it harder. If you are thinking about purchasing it, do it! You will not be disappointed! (at least my kids were not!)

This really was originally released as three separate games, meaning you would have paid $150 to get the three games for the last gen consoles. It’s a fantastic deal as an all-in-one. These games are good clean fun, full of humor.

My son didn’t think he’d like this game because he hasn’t really seen a lot of Star Wars movies and he thought…Lego…video game…really Mom? The Light Saber controllers intrigued him though so he gave it a try. He really likes the game but thinks it would be better if he knew more about the movies as well so we’re working on that. The controllers are ok but I would imagine much more fun when your playing the game with someone. So his overall impression is it’s a really good game but would be better to know the movies so you know you characters. He is looking to get more Lego video games now that he see’s how much fun they are.

A brief tutorial would have been helpful at the beginning of the game to learn the buttons and moves, but it isn’t too terribly hard to catch on to how the controls work. Very fun game, stays true to the movies, and the music playing in the game is also directly from the movies. I enjoy this game a lot, easy to play and extremely fun.

Lego Star War Fans’ Favorite Game
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My son (7 yrs old) is a Lego Star Wars Brickmaster and when we moved to Wii, THE COMPLETE SAGE is naturally the first Wii game he picks (and still his favorite). Unlike lego sets where he can build alone and build without frustration, with this game he seeks advice from his friends and invite them to come over and play together. This game thus encourages “teamwork” and I always heard them laugh and discuss strategies and “buy” or “unlock” stuff together as they adventure through all levels. The best part for parents is, after all the excitement and movements, we won’t stumble over loose legos and there is no mess to clean up. Cool deal!

My 9 year old son loves it (other than that the music is sometimes a little scary). The levels are nice and it has been a fun father and son activity. My son does not recommend it for little kids but it is perfect for his age. You can play each level for hours and there are many levels. It can be difficult for a single person to play since it is easier to move through the levels with two players.

My 4 year old LOVES this game.
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My 4 year old son LOVES this game. He doesn’t get discouraged by getting killed by bad-guys like he does in other games. He finds the lego people breaking into pieces to be funny. Also, there is no limit to the number of times you can ‘die’. In many games you ‘lose’ once you die more than 3 or so times. The only consequence for getting killed is you lose some of the studs you collected in the level.

He can do some levels by himself, and if he has trouble there is a ‘drop in’ feature where I can take the other controller, jump in to help him out, and then drop out again letting him continue himself. There are puzzles and objectives that make this interesting and fun for me to play too. Control is easy, it uses the nunchuck for moving, performing an action (like using the force), and moving control to a different character. The main controller can be swung like a light saber, use the B button to attack, A to jump.

Every afternoon the kids all want to play this game after school. Nearly a month after Christmas and this game is still the favorite.

Poor camera angles and frustrating vehicle levels hamper the fun
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This game’s got Star Wars and Lego — what’s not to like? Plenty.

I kept finding myself wanting to like this game but there are several problems with it. First and foremost is the poor camera angles. Whenever the camera is behind your character, the game is fairly easy to play. But all too often the camera will be positioned at at a 3/4 or 90 degree angle to the character, making it practically impossible to properly execute jumps. I frequently found myself missing jumps because I was a little too far left or right of where I wanted to land. The roaming camera also causes left/right up/down to shift WHILE YOU’RE MOVING. So for example, you might be pushing up on the control stick to move forward and then suddenly the camera angle shifts and now, right in mid-stream, you will be moving left/right/back. Also, there will be times when you are running towards the camera and you’ll fall off a ledge because the camera isn’t far enough in front of you to enable you to see that there’s a ledge.

The second frustrating thing about this game was that far too often I found myself running back and forth trying to figure out what I was supposed to do in order to be able to continue through the level. Sometimes it would end up being as simple as taking a few more steps beyond where I currently was, while other times it meant shooting an object to reveal a hidden switch. Usually these hidden switches would be revealed because I would get bored and frustrated and just start shooting or swinging my lightsaber randomly and I’d connect with an object and lo and behold, there’s the switch. I guess I’m not saying a game should be easy and scream at you “SHOOT THIS THING!” or whatever but this type of thing just seemed to happen far too often in this game.

The final frustration is the vehicle levels. Again, camera angles will really bite you on these. Also, I found the precision of the controls to be lacking. I often would want to make a tight turn but the game would only allow a wide turn; really frustrating when you’re trying to grab a heart to replenish health.

There ARE things to like about the game. For example, I enjoyed having to switch between characters in order to solve puzzles. I thought this seemed well thought out and it prevents you from only ever using one character. Also, some of the cut scenes are laugh-out-loud funny, although I thought they went overboard on making young Obi-Wan seem like a total doofus. I also liked watching some faithful reproductions of scenes from the movies (with Lego stand-ins, of course).

Personally I don’t think this will have much replay value for me due to the level of frustration. I’m not terribly motivated to go back in to play the freeplay mode, either, in order to try to get 100%.

    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is a very fun and entertaining game that the whole family can play. The only negative that I have seen is movement limitation when playing two players, it often ends up being a tug of war as to which way to go. Other than this though it is highly enjoyable, and there are so many hidden secrets is contains hours of fun.

Lego Star Wars: Great Game for Married Couples
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My wife disliked playing video game consoles. That changed with the Wii, so kudos to Nintendo for creating a video game console for the whole family. Lego Star Wars is one of our favorite games to play together. Both players work cooperatively, simultaneously, controlling a host of characters that follow storylines based on the movies. We needed around twenty hours to complete the entire game, finishing all the mini kits and gathering all of the gold bricks. This is a great game, and I highly recommend the Wii version to married couples.

Super Game for Kids and Adults alike
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’m not an avid gamer, but this game has captivated me — an educated attorney who is usually too busy for trifling things like Wii games. Bought the game for the kids — who LOVE LOVE LOVE it BTW — and then tried it one night after they were in bed. I am hooked. Good graphics, story line fairly consistent with the movies, and really fun adventures and problems to solve in every “scene.”

I have read other reviews here that said the game was too easy (I’m guessing by avid gaming teenage boys or underemployed 20-somethings), and a few that said it was too hard (which it might be if you try to pass each level using brute force alone — you have to “use the force!”). But I consider it just right.

Awesome game! Being a big Star Wars fan, I enjoy working through all of the movies. Depth perception is a bit off at times, but is easily overlooked. The movie is kid firendly enough that the more dark scenes are dealt with in lego style – bricks breaking – no blood. Highly recommend for any Star Wars fan.

Hard to Play for Younglings it is. But Great Excuse for Parents to Play Yes!
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The title for this review was my best Yoda impression I could muster lol.

It is pretty difficult for a 7 year old to play this game. I have had to help him on most of the levels (which has been a lot of fun for me :) I would not recommend this game for children under 12 for solo play. Most will need some parental or older brother/sister help.

LEGO and Star Wars how could you go wrong with this combination. This is great game and it is a lot of fun for adults and kids. The Star Wars saga is played out (with an injection of satirical humor) almost to a tee of the original films.

The game play is dynamic and hugely different in one player and two player each offering unique game-play. In one player you have the added challenge of facing the majority of enemies on your own. But in two player the challenge continues as it not only tasks your ability to face the enemies, but also working together to solve puzzles and challenges. As you play you unlock different characters that can change the way the game can be played again and again.

I am an adult and have found myself feeling like a kid again playing this game. Its a blast! I would recommend it to anyone who likes Star Wars (or just a good laugh). Great Game.

(Also keep a watch out for Indiana Jones in this game…Playing the Star Wars sagas while cracking a whip is quite a hoot)

I bought this game for my five year old son since he likes Star Wars. This is just a great game! When you battle people they break apart…no blood, so I felt it was acceptable. Basically, this game makes you think. Evey board has a different challenge and way to win. I would have paid $100 for it really!!!! It is just refreshing to see so much thought put into a game for kids…with no real violence or inappropriate behavior. This game will go down as top 10 for me and that includes games from back in the 80′s. It it in my top ten because my son simply loves the challenge, enjoys the graffix and sound effects. I highly recommend this to any family who actually parents and limits what their children take in. For me, it is fun and safe.

great value for a video game
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I haven’t really played the game, this was bought for my son who is seven. However, I did watch him play the game and occasionally helped when he needed it. This is a great game for kids, although it is a kill and destroy everything game. It isn’t as violent as one might think, when destroyed, the Lego falls apart into smaller Lego pieces. Sometimes you have to build something new out of these pieces to complete a task. The most violent thing I saw was that you can make Chewbacca jump on stormtroopers and then he rips both of their arms off to kill them. Needless to say, this is one of my sons favorite things to do. The final word is that it is good for young minds, a player must think how to get through a level and figure out how to do certain tasks. Sometime it is quite complicated and takes some time. I can’t figure some of the things out yet. One more thing, through the whole game you have to destroy everything around you(or try). This is because you get coins when you break stuff, then you go and buy or unlock new characters. This is the part of the game that gets old very fast. I wish the designers of this game didn’t require you to unlock all the characters. I’d love to skip the mindless destruction of everything. But then again, I’m not a seven year old.

    THE BEST GAME FOR BOYS
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is my son’s favorite game to play. My husband tries his best to get a few games in too. It’s a great game and I highly recommend it. I did not rate it 5 stars due to the minor frustration factor for young kids when figuring out some of the chapters (hints in the manual would have been nice – you can buy hints in the Cantina but they are random).

This game includes ALL 6 Star Wars Episodes. There are three modes and 160 levels to complete so you’ll get your money’s worth. Playing in “Story” or “Free” mode allows you to rack up the coins and collect canisters at your own pace. The “Challenge” mode is a timed game. The point of the game is to collect as many coins as possible (you will need them to pay for needed items in the Cantina) and all of the canisters in each chapter. When you complete each level, you earn a gold Lego brick and once you collect all of them – you obtain true Jedi status. You can also unlock characters and games along the way.

I love how this game forces my son to think things through as he is presented with different challenges in each chapter. Also, I really love that the violence is all Lego characters falling apart.

My advice – buy it! and once you do, destroy anything made out of Lego bricks because it’s going to give you coins.

For play, you need the basic Wii, the controller that usually comes with it, and you need to have the numchuck control (it holds the force and is how you change characters. You’ll also use this for boxing games on the Wii).

All the characters are from Lego mini figures, and the ships, levers, and buildings are made of legos, so none of the violence is remotely real- it’s all done with toys.=)

    My son says:

Every single Star Wars episode from 1 to 6 is represented. From episode one you can play an extremely simple game called negotiations, you go through corridors full of dangers, trying to survive multiple droids in order to get to a droid transportation ship to hi-jack. There are podraces. The last level for episode three is called Darth Vader, you’re Darth Vader, first crossing a fragile floor, trying to avoid the lava below, fighting Anakim, and multiple droids. There’s a hoth battle (from episode five), you’re in Luke’s ship and you have to bomb your way through multiple doors and avoid the spydroids.

Wii is more fun than game cube because in levels like the podrace you can actually know what you’re doing and be going extremely fast.

This game works better when you use the controls on the Wii remote, pressing the buttons gives you more control over your moves than swinging. For instance, you press A two times you’ll double jump in the air. If you press B in midair, then you’ll be kneeling in the air on the way down and can destroy almost anything. You can react faster with the Wii games than with game cube, too.

I like it because, unlike other computer games, my son mostly plays it standing up and moving around.

The first one our kids reach for . . . a surefire way of getting chores done!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Having LOVED Lego Star Wars on the Nintendo Game Cube, our kids were determined to get the Wii version when we upgraded our system. To be truthful, I thought it might be a waste of money (since we were able to play all of our old Gamecube games on the Wii), but they insisted and finally tipped the scale in their favor when they pooled their money and offered to buy it themselves. Thinking this would be a “sad but valuable” lesson in learning to take advice from their parents, we conceded and allowed the purchase.

I am HAPPY to report that my husband and I were actually the ones who ended up learning something! This Wii game is so much MORE than the installment we had. The added “bonuses” keep my kids active and entertained, and the Wii complements the different personalities of both of my kids (I have one who likes to search out every “nook and cranny” and takes FOREVER to get through a game, the other rushes to the finish line, ignoring everything else on the way). No matter the approach to gaming, the Lego Star Wars accommodates.

As far as the chores mentioned in the tag line? It’s been nigh on miraculous. When the kids get in the car after school, invariably one or the other says, “Can we play Star Wars when we get home?” My answer? “Sure, guys! Just as soon as you finish your homework and chores!”. The work gets done, the kids play, and I get a little peace and quiet in my afternoon (if you don’t count the hum of light sabers and blaster bolts).

Ok I bought this b/c well I love Star Wars and I want to play with a light saber. I was surprised by how much fun it was not only for me but my 6-year-old daughter. She loves to play this and understands it really well. If you want a game that you and your kiddos can play together this is the game for you. We use the Wii remote to move the light saber and it works fine for us. The only thing that I really wish it had was a duel mode but you can attack each other while playing the game anyway so I’m ok with that.

    I’m NOT a Star Wars Fan…
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
But I’m a Lego video game fan-all of the lego video games I’ve played have been really fun since I started playing Lego Island 2 and Lego Racers on my computer when I was little. I’ve only ever played one Star Wars game (Jedi Knight Pathways to the Force) that I completely fell in love with. I think I only saw half of one Star Wars movie when I was little (the one with Darth Mual) so I didn’t really get the plot-I just played. That game used a gun, though. I’ve always wanted to try playing a video game where I could swing a lightsaber (again, I only saw half of one Star Wars movie so sorry if I spelled lightsaber wrong) at my opponent. I wasn’t going to buy the Clone Wars game so I gave the brand I trusted a shot. My favorite characters would be Qui-Gon Jinn and Yoda-I don’t even know who Qui-Gon Jinn is or if I even spelled his name right! The little cutscenes are easy to follow, although it was quite upsetting when x’s appeared on Qui-Gon Jinn’s eyes, (him being my favorite Jedi) in the first episode. The worst episode would be the last one (the one with Luke Skywalker) because that one doesn’t have too many lightsaber action. When you actually swing the Wii-mote, the lightsabers move at your Wii-command! You swing, your character swings. You defend, your character defends. There are also many characters to unlock, buy, and choose from. This game is worth the buy–5 out of 5!

Great Game But Too Many Glitches
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This game is more fun than the PS2 Lego Star Wars I and Lego Star Wars II combined. My only problem is that it has too many glitches. My son and I created our separate profiles. I have unlocked all the red bricks and majority of the minikits in my profile with only 2 minikits left which are diffixult to get. My son’s profile has 39%. If I play mine first and quit and go to his, his profile has all the extras including the minikit and brick detectors, dark side, X2, X4, X6, X8 X10 – everything even though they are not beat and bought yet. I get the True Jedi the moment I get in because 1 point is multiplied by 3,840. The story part is more like freeplay because it has the arrows showing where the minikits and red bricks are. The only deifference between the story and freeplay is you cannot pick and change into other characters. I hope Lucas Arts makes note of this because this is a major glitch that makes this game boring after a while.

    The Force is Strong With…Multiplayer?
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Lego Star Wars is host to a multitude of small but cumulatively frustrating flaws: studs (the in-game currency) disappear too quickly to collect everything you scare up; the concept of depth is almost non-existent in some important jumping sections; vehicle controls are unforgivably loose; mission objectives are sometimes ill-defined. Even the insistent flashing of highlighted text on menus seems designed to annoy. Playing the game alone, the best you could say is that it represents an entertaining idea (“Legos plus Star Wars? How can we lose!?”) hindered by poor execution.

Get a like-minded friend to pick up the second controller, though, and it’s a different game. The length of time studs appear seems calibrated to multiplayer–two people working in tandem can usually collect everything before it flickers away. And a human companion is vastly superior to the single-player mode’s brain-dead A.I. allies. Multiplayer has its own quirks; for example, friendly fire is always on and the auto-targeting feature likes to aim at your companion as often as the enemy, and multiplayer turns the already recalcitrant camera into one that almost gleefully obtructs your point of view. But having a second human player not only to strategize, but to laugh at the game’s absurdities, lightens the mood considerably. So much so, in fact, that a game that’s hard to recommend for one player could be a must-have for two.

With a cartooninsh twist, this game will satisfy any young star wars fan. All movie plots 1-6 are included in this super fun game. I had great fun running through the Mos Eisley Cantina crowd, into the Hoth war zone, then back through the Cantina into a pod-racer race. This game really allowed me to fully enjoy the Star Wars universe without the dark undertones that woked great for the movies, though with a Lego video game it wouldn’t work. I hope that the force will guide all of you to this great and exciting game!

    Great family game
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My son started playing this game when he was 5 and he loved it. The absolute best part of the game is that a second player can drop in and out at any time. So if he gets stuck, I can join in for a few minutes and help him, then leave. I don’t know of many games that do this (all the Lego/Wii games do) and frankly I don’t know why. It’s amazing.

The violence in the game is all muted/cartoon violence. When guys die they break apart into little Lego pieces. When things blow up, they break into Lego chunks.

Some levels are more difficult than others, but overall I find that my 5 year old was able to master the controls and play successfully through most of the game. You can keep returning to levels to win more stuff and so the game has enormous replay power. We’ve had it for years and even though my son finished it long ago, he goes back to it again and again. It is just too cool to be a Jedi.

I don’t object to the violence (I play other games with my son that involve violence, such as Starcraft) but it just becomes tedious after about 10 minutes. I guess I was expecting more interesting puzzles or something that tied in better with the movie story lines. I give it 2, rather than 1, star because it does have great original Star Wars soundtrack music, and the graphics are done beautifully.

This was the first Wii game I bought, based on great reviews from friends – their kids all love it. Except that right now I hardly let my kids play because I’m having so much fun playing it myself!

The earlier parts are difficult if you’re new to gaming (like me) and are trying to figure out what to do and how to get to places. One tip – try and beat up everything with your light saber! And read the instructions – it will definitely help if you pay attention to the tips that show up on the screen from time to time too. When you’ve completed a chapter it is a lot of fun to go back and play on Free Play – you’ll discover something new every time, even when you think you’ve exhausted all the possibilities. It really is a fun game, and when I do let the kids have a turn, they really have a fun time killing battle droids and whacking things to pieces. (They’re 5 and 7).

This game is fun, funny moments, interesting puzzles… I’ve only been playing for a bit, so I’ve not finished even one of the “movies” yet, but it’s fun to experience my old favorite films in this format. It is very interesting to experience the Star Wars saga, not only in Legos, but with no dialog. Gestures only for the non-speaking legos make it even more funny.

I’ll be considering Lego Indiana Jones for a future purchase.

I originally bought this game for my husband and son to play together (my husband and I are both from the era of the last 3 movies). The whole family (except my 18 month old) has been addicted to it ever since, including myself! You can have three different games saved at the same time and each level has different stages to complete within it so that you can go back again and again. My son is 7 and LOVES to play it; he and his friends talk about it every day at school. It is not very violent (meaning blood and gore) and even has some funny parts. My 7 year old has a little trouble getting through some parts of the levels and needs some help, but can make it through most levels on his own. I had read some reviews before I bought it and one said if you only play for 40-50 hours, you aren’t exploring enough. I thought that was ridiculous at the time, but we have definitely logged well over 50 hours and there is still tons more to do! This is definitely the family favorite and we haven’t played any other game since we bought it. It does have some moves you can do with your Wii remote that simulate the light saber, but to be honest we don’t use that feature very often and still love the game! Highly recommend! Excellent value for the money paid.

I’m going to give this 5 stars based on how much my son enjoys it. He loves all things Star Wars, and asks to play this game 24/7. It’s become his threat (if you don’t comply, no Star Wars lego today) and his reward. He would sit and play this all the time if I let him, and when he’s not playing, he talks about it. I do limit him to 30 minutes a day, but that is enough time to play and get some plot in. He loves changing characters as he’s playing and mixing up the characters from the different movies to play together. You do kill things with weapons, but there’s no blood and guts, the legos just disassemble, so it is kid appropriate there, but it is a little violent in that you shoot at things to kill them. Two player is cool and the second player can come in and out. Would recommend for any Star Wars fan.

I think I just don’t get video games like this. It was not clear what I was trying to do, other than not die (which you don’t seem to be able to do; die, that is). I felt like a rat in a maze. Now, I don’t play video games much, and when I have it has been the same type of “solve the problem” situation, which is a combination of wanting to solve it and extreme boredom. The Wii was my first console, and I really enjoy the Wii Fit games for their fun and involvement.

What I really want is the old Star Wars game from the 1980s where you fly an X-Wing and destroy the Death Star. I like action. Star Wars Clone Wars offered that, as it was all light saber duels and lots of fun.

All of that said, the Lego concept is awesome. Watching the droid I accidentally sliced hop around, bits of Lego pieces falling about, and the like is just plain fun. It did not feel at all violent. Had there been some sort of plot, point, or something to do other than grasp about in the dark it could have been great.

If there is a Lego Star Wars game that lets me fly an X-Wing, let me know.

I’m not a Star Wars fan so I don’t understand everything, but my 9 year old seems to know everything about this…it’s not one of the games that gets thrown aside after one day…they keep coming back to it again and again. For my (almost) 4 year old, he loves running around and collecting all of the coins and driving around in all of the little vehicles which you don’t get until you are up a few levels. There is alot to do, so kids love it. I love all of the visual effects…but the Star Wars song does get a little irritating after several days of hearing it. Just turn down the volume.

The game completely locks up the Wii (have to power down) in Episode 2, Level 3, Droid Factory. I looked online and found that this is a common problem. I called Lucas Arts and they said it’s a known issue they do not plan to fix. Online forums mention a few other places in the game where this might be happening as well. Possible work arounds include toggling widescreen settings and trying not to use the R2D2 character in this area. I’m quite disappointed with Lucas Arts. Be aware before you buy.

For the price this game is great. My son is six and hasn’t seen any of the Star Wars movies so the story lines are a little confusing to him but with so many different areas to explore he hasn’t been bored with it at all. I must say that it can be frustrating to him and myself at times when you get caught in an area you can’t figure out how to get out of. That’s when we take a break.

I know the whole “lego” thing sounds pretty LAME but this game is actually pretty cool.aside from the regular story lines from all of the movies, there are plenty of off tangents to pursue also making this one of the most engaging and longest lasting of any of the Wii system games I have played.Like any of the Wii games, the graphics arent all that spectacular but with both the story and free play modes you can play as pretty much any charachter from the series.very enjoyable and in my view worth every penny!

    LOVE this game!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is by far the best Wii game I’ve played. Though not a fan of Star Wars in general, I have seen every film and I recognised everything from the films in the game. There are 6 episodes, of course and in each episode, there are multiple levels you have to go through.

You first start off playing the Story mode and you are the character that corresponds with that particular episode/scene. You have to solve puzzles and battle everything from droids to Vadar to Maul, etc, etc. When you ‘die’ you just blow apart into a multitude of lego pieces making it very kid-friendly. And you have unlimited lives, which is also great. After you complete the level, then you have the option of playing in Free mode, with whatever character you want. Or whatever character you have unlocked.

There are tons of characters to play and unlock, some pointless, some pretty cool. You earn coins which you can use to buy hints and things that help you along the way-like a way to spot all those canisters you have to find(if you want to get to 100%). Only certain characters can do certain things so it’s fun to try to figure it out.

My husband and I have spent hours playing it-it really is addictive. Like i said, kids will love it and I think adults will just as much. It’s great playing it 2 person-it makes it that much more fun.

The only annoying thing about this game is the challenge mode. Every level has one. You have to find 10 blue canisters and you only have 10 minutes to do it. It is very difficult to the point of annoyance. We have used a walkthrough for just about all of those levels because even if you find 9/10 but your time runs out, they make you start all over. Some of them, we didn’t even get close! But to get 100% complete, you need to do those levels too.

One other cool feature is you can create you own character too but we haven’t been able to use it cause I think we need to complete litereally every doable thing in the game. There are many other small fun facts and surprised in this game, but it’s better to just play it and be surprised. I really can’t say enough good things about this game. And for the price of $20-the best Wii game out there. I am waiting til they lower the prices of the other Lego Wii games and hope those are just as fun.

    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Hmm, I don’t know how to begin to explain this game. It had such awesome reviews I recommended it to someone as a gift for my son for his 10th b-day. He could not figure it out in the small amount of time he had before school to play it, so I thought I’d give it a try so I could give him pointers when he got home with his buddies for a sleepover party. WELL I couldn’t figure it out either (and I’m pretty good at video games, my husband and son always look to me to figure things out)

It was very violent in my opinion, I just felt like it was all about swinging the light saber and killing the bad guys, the furniture or accidentally your fellow Jedi. (okay obviously I’m not a star wars expert who would maybe know that light sabers aren’t only deadly weapons, but can be used with the force for good too?????????)

I’m sure with some more playtime I will figure more out about it, but unless you are really into the puzzle type games, that you need to research codes etc. this is NOT the game for you! I don’t think it’s the kind of game you just plug into the machine and start playing, you really need to know what you’re doing.

I can see how it could be an awesome game for someone who wanted to spend a lot of time on the puzzles etc. But don’t expect to just turn it on and start playing.

We got this game mainly for our 7 year old to play. He loves it and really enjoys playing with his Dad. I must admit I even enjoy playing it with him! The game play is fun with just enough of a challenge to keep my son interested and only occasionally frustrated! We are pretty strict about content and what he can watch and play but so far this game has been fine for him to play. There are even some funny things the adults will get a kick out of! All in all, we have been very happy with this game. My only complaint would be that during regular game play, you can not save your progress until you complete a level. This has lead to a few meltdowns when time is up and he is not done with a level yet. We solve this problem by warning him when time is short to play in free play mode where you can save your progress. No more troubles!

The wii controls for this game are great, swing your remote=swing your saber.

The things I most love about this game are: Pod racing, its fun and easy. Being able to play as some of your favrite villiens, such as: Darth Vader and Darth Maul. And most of all, Legos funny mini videos between each level.

This game has many funny and cool little details that make it so awesome, when you kill a mini figer they fall to little lego pieces, which looks really cool.

I highly recommend this game to ANYONE who likes a good game.

I’ve had bad luck with Wii games lately. The last game I got was ‘Sonic: Unleashed’ and I found it to be a huge disappointment. To give an idea of the type of games I like, I thought ‘Super Mario Galaxy’ pretty much set the bar for excellent games. I spent about 6 months playing that game 1-2 hours/week and never got sick of it. I doubt this one will last quite so long, but for $18 I am very impressed. The game play is fun and intuitive, and the free play option ensures that it will stay fun for quite a while. The whole Lego thing is a great idea, too. The folks at Lucas came up with some very creative applications.

If you are looking for a game that’s fun for adults but suitable for kids to play or watch, this is definitely it. I can’t wait to try ‘Lego Indiana Jones’.

They have fun lego version cut scenes which are great and entertaining. You can play lots of different characters, you can play levels different ways, you can play flying levels and overall lots of fun. This is a great game for younger kids also because there is no swearing, the violence consists of a lego player falling apart when it dies (which is just rather amusing) and it is just good clean fun. I would recommend this for players of all ages to have a good time.

    Buggy
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The first 3 ‘movies’ in this game are decent, but the last three are terrible by comparison, and are horribly buggy. There are many places in the map where your character can get stuck, and in some places if you move to the wrong spot on the screen, your other party members will run to inaccessable points on the screen and just stay there. In both of these cases the only fix is to restart the level.

As well, the puzzles in the last 3 ‘movies’ are very abritrary and illogical, you will need to play with a FAQ or waste a lot of time doing counter-intuitive stuff trying to find the random action you’re ment to do that advances the level.

I’d give the first half of this game 4/5 stars. But the unacceptable poor quality of the 2nd half brings it down to 1. I’d give it zero if it were possible.

I bought Lego Star Wars for my son (age 5). He is a huge Lego fan (and Star Wars fan, too). He has quickly become skilled at playing the game (it uses the Wiimote with the Nunchuck). He and I have had hours of fun working through all six Episodes’ chapters (and then the Free Play and Challenge modes for those chapters, too). My husband has also had fun playing the game, on occasion. Overall, it’s a great buy. We’ve had the game since Christmas, and it is still the game my 5-year old is most excited to play on the Wii.

The nice thing is that my son can play the game in single-player mode, or I can also assist him via two-player mode w/o any problems (and that switch from 1P to 2P or vice versa can be done mid-stream while playing a level, too). Sometimes, it’s easier to see a given scene if only one player is active… the view pans differently so you can see a difficult jump or path a little easier with only one player engaged.

I would definitely recommend this game, especially if you are a Lego and/or Star Wars fan. It definitely offers hours and hours of entertainment.

This game is fun on many different levels. Not only do you (and a friend, if desired) get to play ALL of the games from the Lego’s Star Wars series, but you can go back and replay them as different characters in Free Play.

There’s nothing overly complex about this game, which makes it great for kids and non-gamer.

Just watch where you’re swinging that light-saber.

A great deal of fun. Highly enjoyable.

We are new to gaming. This is fun for us adults but we bought it for our 7 yr. old son. He doesn’t want to fight anyone on it, just cruise around room to room and look at thing. He sees play on youtube and wants to do that so he’s starting to get that there are different levels of play. It’s a bit frustrating for him but he keeps trying. I feel like with all our Wii games that we (the adults) have to read the manuals and get caught up on all the rules before we are able to minimize the kid’s frustration. They are young, but I’ve seen other kids play these games quite easily – but like I said we’re just getting on the gaming highway.

While it would have been nice to use some of the Wii’s movement based controls (like when you are using the lightsaber to fight bad guys; like in Marvel Ultimate Alliance), it is still fun. I also like that once you finish the game, you can go back and play any level over to try to find all the hidden stuff in order to unlock secret parts. Overall, I’ve recommended this game to other parents with younger kids who are looking for an action game that is not too violent.

This is an awesome game. My 6 year old son wanted only this game for Christmas. Of course, we had to get a Wii too. He has had hours of fun with the game. Once you finish a level you can go back and “free play” with whatever characters you have “earned” or bought. You can pick to have it stay with your ability or make it harder for, which is great for a 6 year old. I have heard that the Indiana Jones and other 10+ games really are that. But Lego Star Wars is rated E so it really is for everyone. We all enjoy playing with him, and it is really done well. Not to make it sound too easy, you do have to put thought into how to solve the level. It is not a baby game. There are also things that he has not been able to do on each level, that as he gets better, he will have those things to challenge him also.

Out of the 3 Wii games my boys got for Christmas this year, this is the one they play the most. They love that you can change characters during the game and it promotes teamwork to reach a common goal. I wish is was more active, but it is still fun to watch and isn’t too violent for my boys who are 9 and 5 years old.

I got this game for my 6 year old even though it says for 10 and up. He had been asking for it for months. He actually can do a great job playing it, and has finished several levels. What I like is that there are so many levels of play to this game that kids of all ages can enjoy it. My 6 year old can play it, but misses a lot of the hidden or extra things on the level that an older child would be able to find or do. There is a level for each of the 6 movies, and within each movie level, there are 6 levels of play. Then within each of those 6, there are 3 types of game play…story, free play, and challenge. So there is plenty to do with this game, and kids will not get done or bored with this game any time soon! Three different games can be saved, so multiple family members can have games going. Also if you have more than one remote, another person can “drop in” and control one of the Jedi characters and “drop out” if you don’t feel like playing anymore, but this way two kids can play together. I like that because I can drop in to help my son with some of the things he has difficulty with, without taking his remote away from him. We love it!

Sometimes they are up for action an dplay in story mode, sometimes they’re looking for lighter play and hang out in the cantina and buy new characters. Not too hard but can provide a challenge for any level player. 160 levels make it so you don’t complete the game in a weekend.

The graphics are very good, but not being a gamer myself, I found this game difficult (learning the whole Wii thing along the way), but I’m sure that people who are more serious about their gaming would find it easier than I did.

This is not just a “shoot ‘em up” game!
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
“Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga” wonderful game, with lots of things to discover and figure out along the way… It’s not just a “shoot ‘em up” game, since to progress through the game you must solve puzzles that open up new rooms and levels. While some reviewers have suggested that this is a violent game, it really isn’t… sure, much of the game involves battling with light sabers, but because it’s Lego characters there’s no blood ‘n gore.

We bought this game for our 6 year old, but only after it arrived realized that the game is rated E10+, which means “Everyone 10 and older”. The impact of this is that younger children probably will have a difficult time playing on their own, but since this is fun for adults too, that should not be too much of a problem.

One suggestions: Make sure you have two nunchuks, since this makes two player mode much easier. The second player can play with just a Wii remote, but that limits what you can do. The Wii really should come with two remotes and two nunchuks.

Why Jar Jar got more screen time than Darth Maul in Episode 1 is beyond me. On the plus side, this game gives allows you to vent that frustration on the Lego version of the annoying character…not to mention confuse him w/ the force.

This is by far my son’s favorite game. Pretty much all by himself he’s completed Episode 1 over the weekend. It allows you to drop in & out, so I helped now and again (that is until he got frustrated w/ me slicing the heck out of Jar Jar…just so fun).

I got this after reading all the good reviews. I found it good for kids, but not entertaining enough for an adult. It’s extremely repetitive and the challenges are not all that challenging. Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Legos + Star Wars. What could be better for

    a younger child?

Well, consider this: the basis of the game is wandering around, slashing and killing everything in sight. This may be a surprise for parents thinking this game was really about typical lego behavior, such as, say, building things?

Wandering around as a serial killer/axe murderer is fine for children who are older, maybe, but it’s totally inappropriate for children who are of a typical lego playing age (5-9).

The game is moderately fun, but shouldn’t lego games be appropriate for everyone? There are regular star wars games for bigger kids/adults.

I played the two separate games on the PS2 that make up this game (based on episodes 1-3 and 4-6 of the movies) and as the price dropped on this one and I got a Wii, I was curious on what they changed and encouraged by other reviewers’ generally positive covers. I have to say, overall it’s a lot more fun. For the current low price, you are getting all six episodes. The cute lego animation has improved somewhat, they particularly cleaned up episodes 1-3, the older of the two. There are a couple of segments that run a LOT smoother (example number one is anakin’s Pod race – completely annoying with the original, so much more zippy with this one – the original is included as a bonus race in this set just to show you). There are a couple of extra segments added, as both bonus races and story segments. Unlockables abound, which is the true challenge of the game and will probably keep you looking for hours and hours, and again if you set the game aside for a year or two. controls are very beginner friendly and not the challenge of the game. Yes you can wave the wiimote around, but don’t expect fancy Jedi moves, just basic saber waving. The ship levels are still a little annoying, but playable (and you still get a wide choice of ships)0

Overall, this is probably one of the best video games for families to have come out in the last few years, and would make a great gift.

Though the game doesn’t make great use of the Wii remote, this is still a game worth buying, especially if you are a Star Wars fan. My son is 5 and loves it. We haven’t taken the game out of the Wii for two weeks now. There are so many things to unlock and there are at least 36 levels. One feature I love is, as player 2 I can drop in and out of the game as I like. No matter how many times you lose all your hearts, you never have to start all over at the beginning. Once you onlock a level, you can go back to it at any time. If you are a Star Wars fan, this really is a must have! The game is worth $40, and at $20 it is a steal.

I bought this game for my son after my sister told me about it. She and her husband play it together all the time, and now my son and I do too! This is a rare game where you can proceed through all the levels of the game together in two-player mode. You can play all six episodes, each episode having six chapters that humorously go along with the movies. Some of the flying chapters (levels?) are especially fun. You can also switch your character if, for instance, you need R2D2 to unlock a door and lets say you are Luke Skywalker, you can stand next to R2 and press C and then you are R2 and can unlock the door. This is not a super challenging game, although you have to figure out how to complete every level. Definitely not one of those games you need the official guide for or anything like that. Yes, you can use your Wii remote as a light saber or just press B if you are too lazy to swing your arm.

It’s a good game….appropriate for kids, but fun for adults too. It’s more of a puzzle-solving game as opposed to a shoot ‘em up game, but the puzzles are fairly easy to solve (so the frustration level stays low). I really like the fact that two people cooperate to solve the levels. It makes it more fun – and allows you to play with someone without having to compete. Also, the different video clips are pretty funny as you work your way thru the levels.

My Favorite Wii Game So Far
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This game is perfect for someone like me that doesn’t want to have to spend hours a day to master a game. I learned the basic moves and was out beating levels the first day. This is also good for playing with friends because even in the main game you can have two players at all times. It is also very cool how you can control just about every major star wars character ever made throughout the game. There are also a lot of extra incentives to replay boards to find secret stuff that you missed the first time threw and earn more blocks and hidden items.

So if you are looking for a fun game to play with one player or two that is a little more involved than Wii Sports or Mario Cart etc. but not so hard than you have to devote a week just to learn how to play, this is a great option. May the force be with you :)

This game is so much fun! It is nice because I would imagine a beginner-level gamer or a younger player would be able to get through the game easily, but there are lots of extras for adult or more serious gamers to go back for once they’ve completed each level or episode. It’s nice to be able to wave the wii remote for lightsaber action as well as having the option of just using a button. It’s also fun that different characters have different capabilities (I’m assuming it is similar to the style of other Lego games). The game couldn’t be any cuter and more hilarious. Love the game, and had fun working towards the 100% completion… just wished the result was a little more exciting.

I’d definitely recommend this to any Star Wars fan, guy or girl, young or old. It is made for everyone to enjoy!

Right. Having read all the reviews and then deciding to plonk big big money down on this game, I felt I had to compile a small small review. So here it is:

Putting a Star Wars game into the market is always risky, because most of them seem to be bland and one-dimensional. Not since the 1980 vector-based arcade came has there been a Star Wars game WORTH playing.

And why is it worth playing? Because it takes key sequences from the movies, adds some goals and coins and more baddies than what they could do on the big screen in 1980 (but without going so garishly overboard in 1999) and allows YOU to play them.

It gets better; whether it’s easier for the console to draw series of blocks, Lego wanting more licensing royalties, or if somebody decided that mixing a legendary genre with a legendary building block set might actually be a work of genius, we do not know. Regardless, it’s a brilliant idea.

Best of all, this isn’t the usual “3 lives and you’re done” — you can keep getting killed and you’ll magically reappear. Remember this because I’m going to refer to it later on…

I could froth on and on about how this game is so great, when everyone else has said why. So, why do I knock off a star?

Simple: In order to play ANY of the movies’ sequences, you first have to drink 126 cups of coffee and meander through some of the dreary “Phantom Menace” games. If you’re the type of person, like me, who’d rather endure the bubonic plague and a running cold water in tooth cavity while watching paint dry instead of watching movie prequels 1-3, you’re not going to want to really care because you want to get at the actually good stuff (episodes 4-6).

Which is why being able to die constantly is so terrific! If there’s a scene you really want to get over with, but know you have to finish it before you can get onto something fun, just whiz through it and not worry about a thing. If you had 3 lives, snuffed it, and hard to start over from the beginning, at some point every person reviewing here would rate the game a big fat 1 star, and that’d still be generous.

For that ability alone, to die over and over and it having no effect on actual game play, I really shouldn’t have withdrawn a star… but the first three prequels barely qualify as part of the saga IMHO and the repetitiveness really got on my nerves… I will say this: The pod racing game was rather enjoyable. I just didn’t like feeling I’m playing the brat who ends up the most vile person in the universe, but nothing’s perfect – it’s about the game, not the people who scribbled up the movie with crayons in the first place.

Incidentally, I wasn’t entirely annoyed at meandering through “Phantom Menace”. For a while, it was great fun slicing Jar Jar Stinx over and over again with my light saber. Maybe I’ll do that some more later on today… :)

But add my voice to the choir – reliving these movies by BEING the action is a stroke of genius, and taking the best films from Hollywood’s golden age helps too.

Hmmm. One other thing — after enduring scene after scene of boring slicing and dicing with light sabers in ep 1, it was rather nice getting to the wider array of sequences in the other movies. Especially “Empire Strikes Back”, for all the obvious reasons. :)

CRAZY FUN! ADDICTING! ACTION PACKED & INTENSE, FOLLOWS EACH STAR WARS MOVIE TO THE TEEEE!!! A MUST HAVE FOR STAR WARS FANATICS!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
If you’re a Star Wars fanatic and always wanted to know what it would feel like to be able to use the FORCE and slice up your enemies with a Light Sabor….this is a MUST HAVE!!! If you ever watched the Star Wars movies over and over as I have, had favorite characters and movie experiences that you felt you could never get enough of…this is the game for you! Lucas Arts has truly out-done themselves with Lego Star Wars…

The game follows the movies to the tee. Don’t let the “LEGO” name fool you into thinking this is just a game for kids. The Graphics are amazing and extremely detailed, the story line is “Right On”, the Music is Intense and direct from all the Star Wars Movie Sounds Tracks. The Sounds effects of the flying star ships, x-wing fighters, Light Sabors, Ewoks, Chewbacca, R2, C3PO….and all your other favorites are direct from Lucas Arts Entertainment and into your living room.

The game is really long “thankfully”…but it’s definitely not meant to be played and completed over a weekend. It’s a game I’ve been playing and enjoying for months now and I just finished Return of the Jedi last night. What a Blast this game is!

Never have I played a game this intense. I know what’s coming throughout each level of the game since they follow all the movies from start to finish, but I never thought I would be able to experience the action first hand. You fight with your light sabor, blow things up, fly the Millenium Falcon, fly an X-Wing, fight Darth Mall & Darth Vadar, fight along side the Ewoks, blow up the Death Star, tie up the legs and trip up massive At-Ats in the snow on Plant Hoth, train with Yoda to become a Jedi in the swamps of Tattoine, fight against Anakin in the Hot Lava as he turns to the Dark side…it really is intense and insane!

The Wii controls really enable you to become a part of each character you become throught each level of the game. The fighting moves for each character all resemble the actions of the real characters in the movie….and believe it or not….it feels amazing to use the force and pick up huge objects and wing them at your enemies or literally pick up your enemies until they explode under your grip. Just the sounds of waving around your light sabor in your own home while slicing up storm troppers was enough to get me to give this game a shot. Lego Star Wars is definitely more than worth the $50 bucks.

I am not even a huge video game fanatic….until the release of the Wii system. But this Star Wars game has taken my interest to a whole new level. The Game is challenging but engaging, addictive, and the action packed explosions and fighting against the evil Dark Side is just crazy fun!

As Each character from the movie is introduced into the game, new fighting skills emerge, new techniques to “figure out” the secret to each level and each chapter of each movie.

You can conquer a level of each chapter one at a time, and save your progress as you jouney through the galaxy from Star Wars a New Hope…all the way to Return of the Jedi.

All your favorites are in the game….Yoda, Luke, Han Solo, the Ewoks, At-Ats, Lando, Boba Fett, Pricess Lea, Chewbacca, Jobba the Hut, General Palpatine, General Grevious, the Sand People, C3PO, R2D2, Count Doo-Ku, Jawa’s, Queen Amadala, Obi One, Darth Mall, Darth Vadar, Anakin as a Kid, the Emperor…and many many more.

The game is extrememly unique and gives you a HUGE varitey of experiences from racing for your freedom as Anakin, flying the Milenium Falcon through the Death Star, fighting against Darth Mall, battling along side JarJar in the Clone Wars, Ripping through the forrests of Endor on your Speeder, Fighting At-Ats in the snow, flying through a city to catch the Changling that tried to kill Queen Amadala, rescuing Princess Lea from a star ship, fighting to free Han Solo from the Carbonite before helping Jobba the Hut reach his doom…the excitment never ends in this game.

Anyway….if you ask me this game is more than an adventure. I can’t wait for the next Star Wars game to be Released this Fall….if it’s anything like this game I’m sure I’m in for another great ride!

    Enjoy!

It is a great fun in a small pacage.. the star wars saga is great, but if you play the six episodes strait forward it only covers the 40% of the game!!! So every corner of it its a place for discover new thing, you had to come back to the missions and do it again with another caracther.. so the experience is expanded..

    great game..

My boys ages 4 1/2 and 7 just love this game. They are addicted! They never really knew anything about Star Wars until I rented this game; then ultimately bought it. I’m not sure why it has a 10+ rating. While people’s head do get chopped off; they are lego’s…so it’s just lego parts that fall apart. My kids have fun using the wii as a light saber and collecting the lego studs to buy characters. They love to see what kind of powers the characters have. They also like to make their own characters in the pods as well. Now my 4 1/2 year old wants to watch the movies too, which is pretty cool. My kids have been playing this every day (after homework) for over a month now. They still have much to unlock! Definitely worth the money!!!

My wife and I have been looking for some good 2-player Wii games and this one fit the bill. We got addicted to it and have been playing all month. We are both “old school” and started with Episodes IV, V, and VI, but even though Lucas ruined the films, playing I, II, and III was still fun. We “finished” it last week, but now we have to go back and get all the extras, it’s probably got many tens of hours left!

    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
A fun game and the familiarity of the characters is entertaining as well. Game play is not particularly challenging but all the little extras can be difficult to find. It’s a bit annoying to have to replay levels multiple times to learn what characters are needed to accomplish all the tasks, but the levels are usually fairly quick.

    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love this game, but I can see how people might dislike it.

It is not a very “serious” game, by that I mean that you don’t really have to aim that much, the bosses are very easy to fight and you don’t have many kinds of moves. You basically jump and fire or swing your light saber.

I still rated it as a 5 stars game because I can’t stop playing. I redo every single round trying to get all bacta tanks, red bricks and so on.

    PROS:

    -great sense of humor in the game;

    -fun graphics;

    -not too hard, you don’t have to be an experienced videogame player with exceptional hand-eye coordination to play;

    CONS:

-doesn’t use the wii mote, but I think that for this kind of game, there is not a better way.

-it is kind of annoying to collect all studs (lego pieces).

This game is fabulous, I had been playing the orginal Gamecube versions until we got the updated Wii game I love the gamecube games but this version is even more fun you use the remote as a lightsaber swinging it about to fight the bad guys. The humor instilled is also great. I love that Chewbacca rips the arms off of the stormtooper legos and it makes popping noises when he does.

The only complaint I have is that there are levels that are ridiculously hard to get through and are usually the ones where you have to fly about and place bombs at cetain points to open gates! I still can’t get through the Hoth battle scene after trying for hours which is very annoying. If anyone has some pointers I’d love to hear them. Sigh but the rest of the game is just brilliant!

Okay so the game is great fun. If you a Star Wars fan or not the humor is great and the game play good. However I have found one major problem with it. Don’t let your wife say “I’m just going to play LSW for 1 hour and then come to bed” at 11pm or she won’t get to bed much before dawn!

One of the greatest games for the Wii
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have two kids (a boy,10 & a girl,9) and they have loads and loads of fun with this excellent videogame. Plus they get to play simultaneously solving adventures and problems in order to advance levels and “opening” new characters all from the movies. My kids are both Star Wars fans (as their parents’) so I guess it just comes with the territory for them to kind of get the whole point of the game easily and with no fuss. Hearing them laugh histerically while they play and making all kind of funny noises as new and unexpected things occur while playing, made me write this review. Parents out there: if your kids are familiar with the Star Wars movies, and you happen to be looking for games that allow siblings (even a brother and sister pair like my own) to fully interact with each other and play simultaneously, in adventures that appeal to both of them, and have loads of fun, try Lego Star Wars: the complete saga (Wii). One of the greatest games ever. Even for adults!

This is a great game lots of fun. Long enough that you won’t finish it the first night. Some points are a little difficult when you don’t know what to do or how to get to the next bit which gets really annoying rather than challenging (half life 2 is fun and challenging if thats a fair comparison). Mainly the thing that was the biggest disappointment was that it doesn’t really use the remote :( I had dreams of BEING ‘Luke Skywalker’. Sadly the wand really doesn’t DO much in this game.

It’s Star Wars you can’t go wrong
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I picked this game up the day I bought my Wii. I had the original X-box versions and I played both of the starwars games on it. I was able to beat the first but never really had enough time to play the second. I was so excited to see the Complete Saga when I picked up my Wii.

The graphics are better than earlier versions. I have my Wii hooked up with component cables so that might make it a little better itself. I noticed it in the 1st door, Negotiations of Episode 1. If you look you on the floor when walking around you can see your reflection.

The game is much faster also. When you are refecting blaster fire from the enemy it bounces back much faster. The Pod racing is Super fast thought they did make it a little to easy to beat Subulba.

There are also a lot of new things you can do and buy in the game. It added quit a few hours to the overall completion.

And of course. Using the Wiimote as a light saber. Ok it isn’t all its cracked up to be. It takes a while to get used to and even then I doesn’t always work the way you want it to. I reverted to using the B button and every once and a while swinging the remote.

Overall all a great game with a lot of improvments. If you have kids this is the game for them.

More than 6 games in one Disc !!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
When I’ve seen some reviews and trailers, I wasn’t sure about to buy. But in recent Christmas, I was in Mcallen and bought it.

The game is “easy”, because everyone has been see Star Wars movie, knows what happened and the history is playable. You must know about habilites from each one, because some canisters and red bricks are available for some type of characters (dorids, jedis, humans, etc. etc.).

Also you must be patient, remember that are 6 movies, so they have 6 games, and each “game” has 6 levels (and extras). This game is for be finished in a long long time. In fact I think that when you finish you’ll say “A long long time ago, I bought Lego Star Wars and I’ve start to play….” ta da da daaaa daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…..

Hint and beware for the programmers and game play developers: My son do not know about Star Wars movies, so we have be seening every movie before a new movie in the game starts. In The Revenge Of The Sith, my son said… “Daddy… Where are the canisters???? In the game ARE A LOT OF THEM, and in the movies NOT!!!.

May the force be with you padawans…

One Of The Greatest Of All Time
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Lego Star Wars was introduced a few years ago as a kid’s game (12 and under). I discovered it through my friend’s son, who was a 5 year-old Star Wars fan. At one point, he needed help with an area and asked me to guide him. So I took the controller and tried my best. After about a half hour, he asked if he could play again, but I told him that I was still “trying to figure out how to play this game.” (In actuality, it was an instant addiction.)

What I learned about Lego Star Wars is that the two-player function is awesome, but only if you are already friends with your counterpart and/or they are a skilled gamer. If not, you will find yourself directing their every action (to help move the game along), and they might take exception to that.

Anyway, if I may now review this particular rendition, Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga…

The game is awesome. I put it on par with the classics (Legend of Zelda, the Super Mario games, Sonic the Hedgehog, etc.). That may sound like hyperbole, but let me assure you that Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga is the real deal. The fact that the current generation game consoles enable new features (like Wii’s remote control of the light sabers, guns, and Force) only bring this game from cult classic (kid’s and diehard Star Wars fan’s game) to popular classic (that everyone loves).

Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga will take you approximately 40-50 hours to complete. (That is, to get 100% completion of the game.) And it won’t be 40-50 hours that you regret; even if you take a break from the game and come back to it in, say, 6 months, you will gladly find yourself playing the next 40 to 50 hours that you allot. (And I recommend coming back to it after a while – that way you don’t always remember where everything is in the game, thus maintaining some challenge. Also, like that cool song on your new CD – don’t play it out too fast, even if it is the best song ever!)

Star Wars fans probably found this game first, but it was the Lego concept that makes this a classic game. I grew up with Legos, and Star Wars was pretty scary to me when it first came out. Combining the two did what one expected: offered a fantastic venue for humor.

As you play along to the Star Wars theme and plots, the Lego style adds some of the funniest things you will have seen in a video game. I laughed out loud at some of the mini-movies in between the chapter stories. Also, the way that characters die… their Lego bodies fall apart! This really keeps the game tame for the younger set, but for us adults, it just adds that wonderful, simple, comic humor that we can appreciate.

The Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga version is an addition to the Lego Star Wars series. In the beginning, they released Chapters 1-3 to coincide with the Chapter 3 movie release (marketing). LucasArts was already releasing their “grown-up” versions of a Star Wars game at the same time, so Lego Star Wars was decidedly their kid’s version.

A strong market was found, however, among a wide range of ages, so the developers released Chapters 4-6 with more featuers so as to close out their video game series, and thus the Star Wars saga. Or did they…?

The Complete Saga obviously combines the two previous versions, but also adds content. For example, new characters become available, as well as new levels, quests, and features. On the topic of the latter, the first version of Lego Star Wars (Chapters 1-3) had a relatively limited stud-collection/quest system. In the Complete Saga, these chapters are fleshed out (as in the later version – Chapters 4-6), and many more sequences are provided.

In all, if you want a game for yourself and/or a game for your kids, Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga is where it’s at! It is easy enough to simply pick up and play, with really only 4 or 5 buttons to use (4 buttons if you only play the Story Mode). But if you are interested in taking the game beyond the Story Mode, you will find yourself having to manage your characters to know which situations call for which abilities (in the Free Play Mode). This means that the game reaches out to the kids and to the kids within us!

In my experience, the younger kids (ages 12 and under) will likely only appreciate the Star Wars concepts and gameplay. Also, that sense of accomplishment as they complete the Story Mode (where they kind of know what to expect, thus keeping them thinking along). If your kid does not like Star Wars, the Legos concept will probably not redeem the value for them.

For the older kids (ages 13 to 70), the Story Mode is way cool, but the Free Play is where we get to use our management skills! What awed me the most were the great and true renditions of the environments that were present in the movies. I always wanted to go to Endor, for example (not Northern California, by the way, but the make-believe location). Now, in this video game, I can guide characters in a wider use of the Endor location – not just the parts that were featured in the movie.

And that is just one example… The Complete Saga has more levels in it, such as the sequence where Anakin and Obi Wan are onboard General Grievous’ ship. (And the deleted scene from the movie where Shak Ti is killed by General Grievous.) And there are still others…

If you even WANT this experience to last only 40-50 hours, then I think you have rushed it, my friend! I highly recommend taking your time (when you are not up against the clock) to really explore all that is in this game, the Complete Saga. It goes so far above and beyond what we saw in the original two releases, and the game itself, as I stated at the beginning, is a true classic video game. The Complete Saga is the seminal classic incorporating the two prior versions and expanding upon them. (You may want to get one copy and console for yourself and one of each for the kids!) I recommend buying this for any console that you own.

The best thing about this game is the fact that two players can play simultaneously. My 8-year-old daughter and her father have been playing this game together in every spare moment. The fact that the two of them are working together to solve the puzzles and get through the episodes make it a winner in my book. We do have the Prima Games Guide to help them through some of the harder parts. We are new to video games, though, so more experienced game players may be able to figure more of it out on their own.

This is really a super Wii game. It incorporates the Star Wars storyline into each level without becoming predictable in any way. The two player option is incredible, it’s hard enough for skilled players yet easy enough for anyone to simply pick up and join in. It even has a little puzzle action for the more creative players out there. There is definitely no reason why a 7-year-old couldn’t play alongside an adult and actually compete at the same level. It’s great fun to cooperate and figure out how to complete each level, all the while blasting your enemies. We’ve been playing for a few weeks and still have over one hundred levels to complete. Just such a creative and fun game all around, very well done Nintendo!

This game is really easy if you know how to finish the level. And here’s a tip if you already have the game: Look for all the glasses you can use the Force on (they’ll be glowing) and once they’re all in one pile, they will begin jumping up and down. To build, press Z once you’re close to them and they will look like a bowling ball set. Then a bowling ball will appear in the cantina. Use the Force on it, then wait for a few seconds and they’ll explode for extra studs.

They give you studs when you defeat enemies, they let you “use the force” faster, and they let you build lego objects faster. There are new levels in the game compared to the older versions of the game. There are new extras that for example, let you use studs to buy characters that you can use in free play mode.

The Lego Star Wars Wii game is the best game for my 7, 5 and 3.5 year olds. (girl, boy, boy respectively) My husband, myself and the kids have logged in more than 150 hours since Christmas of 2007. The kids are challenged by the puzzles presented at each scenario. I love the fact that the kids are using a controller in BOTH hands to move the characters. This means that they are required to engage BOTH sides of their brain in a unique fashion. I also love the fact that there is no blood or guts of gore…just legos being shattered. Come on, I believe there is something inherently satisfying about wrecking a nicely stacked structure of legos AND getting points for it :) …something that would have involved a time out during your daycare days. We love the game and look forward to Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman!

I’m going to keep this short, but please don’t let that be any indication on the game. Basically it is a really great game. It plays wonderfully on the Wii. I have played two other versions of this game on the PC and there are alot of similarities, However this version does have a couple of extras in it. The fun factor definatly goes up when playing as a jedi and swinging your Wiimote around to attack with your light saber (takes the monotany out of button mashing).

I like the game and would recomend it for gamers old and young.

This is very nice game and for kids you can consider it “politicaly right” since you don’t need to “kill” the enemy, but “break” them… Ok, it’s the same thing, but they look like toys and are really fun to play with.

The other good point is that you can play together with someone else collaborating in a same screen and scenario.

The game just follow the 6 Star Wars movies and if you had the chance to watch all of them, you will really flash it back.

Poor game balance = not fun
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I bought my son (5 years old at the time) the Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. That was a lot of fun and filled with spacial puzzle solving. But this version is not. Someone got involved who decided they needed to introduce “GAME BALANCE”. Unfortunately it was done poorly. You have scenarios where you make a bunch of points, far more than the original game, and then a sequence that repeatedly destroys you till you have 0 points and all you want to do is get to the end so you can stop playing. Several of the scenarios have some good puzzles in them and are fun, but most of the others are not that interesting. The destructive ones suck the life out of you. My son has been playing the original for a year and both of us find this one frustrating and not as much fun.

The comments of several of the other reviewers match our experiences. The game has frozen the Wii several times. Not being able to direct the light saber with the remote is a major disappointment. It has also gotten into a state a few times where the characters can’t perform an action, such as the child Boba Fett not being able to crawl back out through an access after crawling in, thus trapping the character and forcing my son to exit the game.

Maybe they were trying to make it more difficult for an older audience, but the Original Lego Star Wars II was the best children’s computer game I had yet bought for my son. There are more than enough computer games out there with blood and guts and more adult themes. This series should stay focused on kids. If they wanted to make it more difficult, they should have built in a more even mechanism for changing the play level and making it selectable. I was really hoping this new edition was going to take it up a notch.

Dude. Star Wars. Legos. I don’t care which you like, or even if you don’t like either, but put em together, and this is a MUST BUY. Seriously. Even if you just play for the slap stick comedy and amusing storyline based on the movies…. or if you’re just an avid star wars fan. It’s easy to play. And yet is still fun for people that like a challenge in their gaming. Buy it. Now. Go. You know you want to.

My children (7 & 5) received a Wii from Santa this year. :-)

Santa gave them Super Mario Galaxy which is a great game… but the problem is it’s a bit too hard for them at this point.

Enter Star Wars… OMG! My 5 year old son LOVES this game. It’s still a little advanced for him but just running around with a light saber and killing robots is so much fun for him he LOVES it!

Best part… when you character “dies” (which means all his little lego parts fall apart) he comes right back to life. There are no “you only have 2 lives left” issues so he continues to have a blast! Now, he doesn’t score many “Jedi” points because of this but he doesn’t care much about that anyway.

My daughter also enjoys it and because 2 player mode works well they can play at the same time.

Hands down this is the best Wii game we have so far (Super Mario Galaxy is good, Carnival Games sort of stinks… Star Wars is G-R-E-A-T!).

    Enjoy fellow Jedi!

I purchased this for my nephew for his Birthday and he loves it. He is 15 and still gets a kick out of the humor and enjoys playing this game on his Wii. I have joined him in play and can say it is funny and fun to play. No blood just lego’s that fall apart. The puzzles are fun and the levels are challenging enough that frustration doesn’t come into play. All in all a great game.

They totally love it, and i can see why.

I personally like the game because it sets alot of different puzzles that their young minds can solve, and they have to work as a team to do so.

So, i see it as educational in the puzzle solving team play.

Good but not a lot that’s new for Wii
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Lego and Star Wars, how much better can it get? This game is certainly fun and entertaining but if you’ve played it on any of the other console’s it’s out for, there’s not a whole lot that it brings to the Wii. I haven’t finished it or done a level by level comparison or anything but as far as the controls for the Wii go, they didn’t do a whole lot. Sure you can swing the remote to swing your lightsaber but it’s mostly a gimmick. Most of the time you will still use the buttons to attack.

It’s a fun game with many humorous moments and it’s nice to have all the games combined into one instead of split up over two discs like they are in the other platforms but I feel they could have done a lot more with the Wii controllers.

I original bought this for my two 6yo boys as the game doesn’t require much reading at all. So right off the bat, they could play without any adult hands-on coaching. The Wiimote (and nunchuck) really makes the experience unique to the Wiimote as it controls your lightsaber:-) There are 6 episodes (just like the movies) for 1 or 2 players to explore, with each episode having 6 chapters. The game play is sequential initially. But once you complete a chapter, you can go back using the “free play” mode and explore with any character you’ve “purchased”. By “purchasing”, I mean that during gameplay, there’s opportunities to gather “studs”….similar to other games’ coins. As you collect them, these become your Jedi points. As you gain more, you percentage of being a “True Jedi” increases. If you gather the required amount during a chapter, you’ll become a “True Jedi”. I think this enables you to unlock certain characters. Even if you don’t reach that during a chapter, you can buy characters with those studs you’ve gathered. My boys have probably put in some 40 hours into this game and they still have well over 2/3 of the game left. They do have a few favorite chapters they like to go back to and tend to explore originally inaccessable areas with different characters that finally allow them to. One thing I forgot to mention is that they totally (me as well) love solving the puzzles…how to get from here to there which might require building things or pressing buttons in a certain order etc. I didn’t start playing this right away, but once I saw how the game worked, I got hooked myself. The CGI is very good and the facial expressions of the characters during the trailers had me cracking up. The game is pretty much true to the movies that I highly recommend for children (even those that can’t even read) as well as adults.

My husband grew up loving star wars like most men his age. We purchased the Wii for his birthday and my daughter knew he loved star wars and picked this out at the store. I thought it would be a fun gag gift (it is legos after all) but it has been over a month and neither of them can stop playing it. It is super cute for kids (no blood – just popped off lego heads etc…) and she is learning all there is to know about Star Wars – my husband it so proud! You can change and be whomever you like and before and after you win each level there are scenes from the movies (replayed in lego land so not all accurate) that are very funny for kids and adults to watch. One scene, the lights go out on the ship and when they come back on Leia and Solo are kissing. When Leia realizes the lights are on, she smacks Solo in the face. It was hysterical. My husband will never admit it but he is more addicted to this game then any other game he has played on PS2 or Wii. Highly recommend!

The kids learn to work as a team and learn about the strategy in trying to get through the different chapters and episodes. The adults just get to tune out and play something fun and innocent for a while.

This game makes great use of the Wii remote, you can swing it to get the light sabre to work or you can just use the buttons and controls to move. It can be as active or passive as you want when it comes to playing. A game that is truly worthy of my time, so much so that I don’t even use the “cheat” codes to get extra gear, it’s more fun to find it all through the levels…

I am at best a casual gamer… I am 47, work 45-50 hours a week and have been totally absorbed by this game! I have found it to be engrossing to the point of forgetting to blink, but easy enough to master that I can understand the objectives and figure out *most* of the puzzles. (I admit, a few times I forgot R2D2 can fly.) I’ve had it since before Christmas and still find myself making time at the end of a long day to lose myself for a few hours. It’s fun to play with a friend and even the uninitiated can pick up the basics quickly.

I am just now getting to all the free play and am looking forward to discovering more secrets, building with kits and figuring out how to better fly in the really interesting, but rather frustrating air & space environments.

Great little kid game too… 5 & 6 year old first time gamers loved it!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The reviews here are excellent but I just wanted to add this for any parents of younger kids looking to buy a game that the adults can play too (especially those whose last video game system has asteroids or the original Donkey Kong- you know who you are). This is it- $50 is a lot to pay for the under 8 crowd and the Wii games, much less the Lego Star Wars is never on sale. Our boys, 5 and 6, will spend hours (if they weren’t stopped) playing with each other. It’s simple enough that they can figure out how to move through the levels but complex enough that my husband and HiS brother (gen X) still spent hours playing. It teaches teamwork, problem solving, and is non-violent or crude. The lego guys just fall to pieces is a non-threatening entertaining sort of way when they are “killed” and the “money” collected are the stud (single) lego pieces. They also get Jedi points for making good (read ethical) decisions instead of whacking each other with light sabers every chance they get (won’t allude to which team learned this the hard way).

The Lego Star Wars is also much more fun than the wii sports (included with the wii) or the wii play (the game you bought because all the rest of the additional controllers are sold out). It’s also much more child friendly than most of the games made specifically for little kids (which no one else in your family will play).

    Hope this help :)

3.5; family fun across the universe
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
For the most part, a lot of games on the Wii kind of turn me off. Not that they are bad mind you; some are outright fantastic (Metroid Prime 3, Zelda, Mario Galaxy) but a lot of them are either family/kid-oriented, using the controller in a gimmicky-”aint-this-neat” way or they’re just ports of other games with Wii controls. But now and then one will surprise you and while it might not be buy-worthy – unless you have kids in which they’ll have loads of fun with this – Lego Star Wars is a game that’s quite fun although it does run into a few flaws.

Story: The selling point is that you can replay the entire Star Wars saga in game form, starting with the Phantom Menace right till the end with Return of the Jedi. Some faithfully recreate moments from the films, including camera angles at times, while in others it changes it in a quirky way (example, in Episode I where Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan ambush the droids on Naboo, instead of both fighting them, Qui-Gon does the work while Obi-Wan’s lightsaber malfunctions, complete with a facepalming Qui-Gon).

Graphics: This ain’t Mario Galaxy or even the Umbrella Chronicles but the graphics here are quite charming since everything’s done entirely in legos (obviously) so it’s a very inviting and kid-friendly atmosphere. In 480p, there’s not a lot of super impressive effects save for the lightsaber glow but everything looks shinier.

Sound/Music: No real voice acting to speak of save Metroid-style grunts and yells from various characters but the music of course faithfully recreates the film’s soundtracks. My one problem, strangely is that the volume seemed kind of low and it didn’t really knock me on my you-know-what. I loved playing Knights of the Old Republic because the sound really made the experience epic while here the music should’ve been brought up more.

Gameplay: Platform-style through various levels with a couple of vehicle-based missions (the podrace in Episode I for instance). The stages are filled to the brim with things to “force” which’ll yield money, things you can build/destroy or activate. You travel with a pack that can range from small characters who can travel small spaces, R2-D2 who can hover for a short time or others that can hookshot up onto a ledge. My one complaint is that at times you’ll find yourself unsure of where to go and it’s only through either trial-and-error or just accidentally stumbling on it that you’ll know where to go.

What makes the game’s replay value through the roof is with the money and level collectibles that can be found. If you ever love 100%-ing a game like the Grand Theft Autos or Metroids, you’ll be busy with this as not only are there is characters to unlock and things to buy but a percentage rating for each stage. What might bug people of the games is that aside from the combination of both trilogies, nothing really substantial has been added. While it’s more neater to have lightsaber sounds come out of the Wii-mote (which by the way can be used for lightsaber action but it’s not direction-specific. ie swing up, characters swings up etc, it’s just an ordinary swipe), it’s basically the same thing but for those, like me, who have never played a Lego Star Wars game before, this is the one to get.

Small kids will find a lot to like with this one as not only is it Star Wars but there’s just so much to do and it’s all in Legos so big plus there. Adults will find it fun but it’s not really deep involving gameplay, it’s just enjoyable to play.

Fun game with one serious concept/execution flaw
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
LEGO SW: Complete is a fun game with effective graphics and well implemented Wii controls, but I must comment on what I think is a significant flaw in concept/execution regarding the Emperor. The designers of this game must have been Yoda fanboys because they seriously misrepresent Darth Sidious’ character vs. Yoda in this game. In the versus mode, the Emperor cannot shock Yoda. Yoda absorbs it completely. I understand that Yoda could absorb the Emperor’s lightning to some degree, but the developers must have missed the part in the movie where Sidious’ lightning ultimately gives him the victory over the diminutive Jedi. He could not block it completely. Sidious’ lightning powers should injure Yoda the same way it does in the Cantina. The real injustice here is that you can hit a second Sidious in the vs. mode with lightning or a Force Choke by Vader. That is just absurd. Sidious is easily Yoda’s equal or greater in Force power, especially in handling Force Lightning. Dooku could deflect a lightning attack so I am sure Sidious can as well or else Dooku would probably had already taken the mantle of Master. I also have issues with the way the programmers gave Dooku lightning powers on par with Sidious. George Lucas screwed that up from the get go even giving Dooku that ability, but the designers could have at least limited Dooku to shooting it with one hand, as well as have Yoda able to block his completely in the Cantina and vs. mode. If they did that and also implemented the change with Sidious’ ability I mention above, this game’s representation of the Sith’s abilities would be correct. The final observation I have that confirms that these designers were clearly Yoda fanboys is that there is no movie clip (unless it is a locked one) showing Sidious’ defeat of Yoda in the Episode III section. I realize that a level for it would be a stretch since you would get beat (although that was not an issue for the Luke/Vader battle in the ESB level), it should still be shown in a clip as it is a critical part of the Saga. I guess it is one that the Yoda fanboys on this programming team would rather ignore. This flaw drops my score for this game by a star because it severely hampers the vs. mode.

Fun, but not what I expected
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Reviews were mixed out here. Several people said “Yes, the Wii Remote is the light saber” while others said “No, it isn’t”. The REAL answer is that it is a little of both. You CAN simulate movement with the Wii Remote, but it is NOT a 1-to-1 motion. In other words, when you hit the B button, a pre-programmed light saber animation attacks the enemy/object…at that point, feel free to move the light saber anywhere you want, it won’t make any difference. What I EXPECTED (based on several reviews here by people who insisted it really works) was a 1-to-1 motion sensor, when I (or more importantly, my son) swing the Wii Remote to the right I wanted the light saber to move to right…up=up, down=down, and so on and so forth…alas, it does NOT work that way.

So, if you are like me and bought this game SOLELY based on believing the Wii Remote could truly, 1-to-1 simulate a light saber, you had better at least rent it first and make sure your expectations are where they need to be.

It is still a fun game, but at this point, I wish I would have bought it for my Xbox 360 so I would at least have the game in HiDef.

I bought this game for my 6 and 8 year old boys. Despite the fact that its ratings weren’t as good as for example Super Mario Galaxy, and indeed technically/objectively it isn’t as good, this is still the game the kids prefer to play all the time. I had hoped that the Wii remotes would be used as light sabers but that’s not the case ; perhaps a next release ?

This game is the best! It has more playing time than Mario Olympics and Crash of the Titans combined (both games received at Christmas). My 8 year old and 5 year old are playing this as much as possible, and what’s great is my 8 year old hasn’t beat it yet! Great that the second player (my 5 year old) can come and go in the game play without any hassles! All the lego figures and things are really cool to watch too. Definitely a close second to Guitar Hero III in my house, great game! Finally the Wii is getting a lot of use!

Great Wii Co-Op Game! My 4 year old and 7 year old love it!
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars

What I like about this game is its co-operative play mode. Many multi-player games on the consoles are battle-style games. In this one, you can work together to solve puzzles rather than against each other. But, that is a good thing and bad thing at the same time. Because even in the standard co-operative play mode, each player can attack the other player. This is my 4-year old’s favorite “feature”. So while I’m running around trying to solve puzzles and eliminate the bad guys, she’s swinging her light-saber at me. I gotta watch my back when she’s in the game with me! And its cartoon violence, nobody dies, your Star Wars character just falls into a pile of lego pieces. There are also fun features like hundreds of upgrades and 160 characters to choose from. One we stumbled on early in the game in the Cantina is a “hat” machine which lets you change what hat you are wearing for free. My kids visit that thing constantly. So you can take Obi Wan and put a Princess wig on her, or a baseball cap. I’d give the game 5 stars except we’ve had 2 situations where we’ve had the our characters “spawn” in separate parts of the scene, and due to bad camera control, we’re unable to re-join. To get around this problem, we’ve had to make one of our characters leave the game, and then rejoin to correct the issue. I’m also disappointed that there are very few in-game voices (the Lego Characters don’t speak their lines). Also – just to dispute an earlier comment posted on Amazon, the Wii remote DOES work as a light-saber!

Great Action, Adventure Game, even for 7 year olds
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We are recent Wii owners, and this is our first video game system as a family (I played some when I was a kid many many years ago). So, the gaming thing is very new for me, but that does not make a difference with this game – it is still accessible.

Although it is rated E10+, and I am careful about what my 7 year old should be exposed to, I think this one is great for him. Yes there is fighting, killing, etc., but there is no gore, blood, etc. (It’s LEGO after all). It reminds me of a modern day, video version of what I did as a child – play cowboys.

I do love that it has levels of difficulty, but is very accessible. You can just go at it without a game guide and have a lot of fun, but for more depth and adventure, buy the “Prima Games” game guide to help out (I did).

My son and I have only played it for a week now, and are still in Episode 1, but there is so much to do and redo that I think it will take us months to get tired of the game.

I thought there would be more to this toy . . . more options for voice change or something. I had read reviews about how much fun it was, even for the adults. My 8-year old requested it for Christmas and likes it. My 4-year old likes it even more. The back of the helmet doesn’t stay on well, but you don’t need it on to play with it. They like it, so I guess it’s OK.

You can play as lots and lots of different characters from all the episodes and personally I think it’s pretty neat to see Padme and Princess Leia fight side by side! Plus, there are Super Stories after you finish each episode. I have just one last thing to say: GOOOO OBI WAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great game. Some people was disappointed with the motion controls, but it is still a good game. You can swing the remote like a lightsaber, even through some reviews said you can’t you. The biggest problem people had was the characters don’t swing the way you swing. You swing left he swings left. You swing right he swings left. What you have to remember is that they still swing the way they did in the old games. You think of that you will enjoy the motion controls and the game.

I’ve played Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Mario Party 8, TMNT, Happy Feet, and perhaps several more games I’ve forgotten, but LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is the best. I’ve played it on PS2 and Gamecube, but the Wii version is the easiest to play one. You can either slam the Wiimote or press the B button to attack, defend, or evade, and Nunchuk moving makes everything easier. The PodRace is more advanced and way easier than before, and this game has the never heard of high-speed pursuit of bounty hunter Zam Wesell. You can even unlock Indiana Jones and play him in Star Wars! He has a whip and pistol; only he shoots bullets, which makes it interesting. There are hundreds of characters to unlock and you can have fun killing your friends in Duel Mode or just while playing because you have unlimited lives. Duel Mode is new and you can’t find it in earlier versions of LEGO Star Wars. Graphics are really good for Wii and you can find game codes everywhere.

    Cute and fun game
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’m not much of a video game player but I love the Lego Starwars games and it’s wonderful on the Wii. I’ve played Lego Starwars on the PC, PS2 and the Wii. The Wii is the best version. The controls are simple to learn and the game (especially with the cutscenes) is so cute! Also the improvements they have made since the Playstation versions are really good- especially the podracing level. Podracing was extremely frustrating for me on the PS2 but easy and fun on the Wii.

To put this review in context, I also love Elebits and Legend of Zelda, to give you a sense of what video games I like. I find games like GTA, Gears of War and Bioshock to be good-looking games with interesting stories, but I am not skilled enough to use the controller well. I just end up being frustrated and bored when I die within 5 minutes because I can’t both aim and move at the same time. Pathetic, I know. I just don’t play video games enough to learn how to be more skilled. I am slowly learning to play Resident Evil 4 on the Wii, and it is MUCH easier on the Wii than on the PS2. RE4 is a very good game, if you have a fraction more skill than I do (which is probably everyone) I recommend you try it out! But I have less incentive to keep playing RE4 when Lego Starwars is both easier and much more fun, so my learning curve will be very slow.

    Sci-fi fun for families
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is the first Lego Star Wars game I’ve ever owned, and I’m glad to discover that it’s a perfect family game for the family-oriented Wii. The movies are retold in cartoonish pantomime with Lego bits, so the most offensive thing you’ll find are Lego characters blown into plastic pieces. Giving players unlimited lives makes the game extra tolerant for younger (or less experienced) players, and the ability for a second player to join in or opt out at any time is a boon for parents whose playtime might get unexpected interruptions. The controls are simple enough that a child of five or six can learn them after a few minutes. The Wii’s motion-sensing features aren’t critical to playing the game, but there is a visceral thrill in waving the remote to use a light saber instead of pressing a button.

As for the game itself, not only do you get to play all six episodes from the movies, but each level has lots of hidden bonuses and challenges for older gamers who want to get higher scores. Other players will also enjoy making their own characters and replaying the levels with their creation — having Darth Leia-3PO Maul wandering around Mos Eisley fighting alongside a Disco-wig-wearing Stormtrooper is sure to make kids and geeks alike giggle.

It’s funny, it’s friendly, and it’s loaded with extras galore. The Force is strong with this one.

    Does have Wii Lightsaber control!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
When I read an earlier review that said the game didn’t use the Wii remote as a lightsaber I was disappointed and decided not to buy the game. However, we rented it a couple days ago and I was both surprised and very happy to find that you can swing the Wii remote and the characters on screen swing their lightsabers. You can also control the lightsaber by pressing the “B” button, which sometimes is easier.

In a way I’m happy you don’t have to try and aim the Wii remote to shoot the blasters because I find pointing the Wii remote at an object on the screen to be the most challenging aspect of using the Wii remote.

Overall, this is a very fun game that I can play with my son, and even though we already have earlier versions of all episodes, I’m considering buying this one for the Wii after we return the rental one.

May the Force be with you!

I have really been enjoying this game. There are lots of areas to explore, so you can play boards over and over for fun. It’s not too difficult, but a decent challenge. Also, the 2 player is really fun. You and your friend will both need both the wiimote and the nunchuck to really appreciate the game and be able to do everything. I highly recommend it!

This game is cool – the sound effects and storyline are great for Star Wars afficionados. However they do not take advantage of the Wii’s controllers at all. Im going to go against the flow here, and give this game only two stars. I read all the reviews before I made my purchase and started out with high hopes, but i have to say i was disapointed. The gameplay is just well, uh,, boring. Yeah they have like fourzillion mock lego characters to unlock- but after i breezed through the first three “episodes” in one day( no thats not including 100% of the bonus content, i often found myself wondering why im i playing this game? The sell is for starwars and lego fans alike who are in it for the nostalgia. Maybe it was just me but spending most of the level running around in circles trying to collect the stupid coins that drop from every object you touch simply wasnt an injoyable time. Decidely it is geared for very young gamers, but before you shell out the hefty price for the game give it a rental try out first and decide for yourself. I for one was let down.

    Half Good, Half Average
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This game is actually a combination of two previous games for other platforms, one based pretty directly on “new” Star Wars 1-3 — it’s as banal-to-bad as the movies — and the other rather liberally on “classic” Star Wars 4-6, which is rather fun and funny with good replay value on what actually does a good job of capturing the playset feel that people my age should expect of putting “Lego” and “Star Wars” together.

It’s effectively a multi-character environment manipulation game (like “The Lost Vikings” if anybody remembers that) which is pretty easy except for oodles and oodles of violence and destruction. Every part of the game facilitates 2-player play, although friendly fire *does* do damage and having a partner *will* get you killed quite a bit — but the only penalty for dying is a few points and you don’t actually need points to win so it’s not a big issue.

I do recommend this game (or at least the second half of it) for 30-year old geeks, though given the lackluster first half of it, you may want to wait for a price drop or sale.

All the fun of Star Wars LEGO I & II. and INDY too!!!!!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
If you haven’t played the original Star Wars LEGOs series (based on the Episodes I-III and IV-VI.) YOU WILL LOVE IT! Whether you just love LEGOs, Star Wars or if you’re a fan of both, it is sheer fun!. The settings are either terrific cartoon replicas of the lego sets or the movie ones. The sound and music FX is spot on and the story links are consistently funny tributes to both franchises. I find the animators’ ability to retell Lucas’ stories without ANY dialogue from ANY characters, remarkable. The game contains multiple chapters and subchapters easily breaking the movies into neat saving checkpoints, collecting LEGO studs for purchasing characters, extra features and special abilities. The replay options are large thanks to “Story Play” modes which unlock the chapters for later “Free Play” modes in which you can return to the adventures as the characters of your choosing or making with the “mix-n-matcher” in the Cantina.

If you have played the original Star Wars LEGO series before, “The Complete Saga” is even worth replacing your copies the earlier separate releases. The Wii remote play is pretty cool, if somewhat limited. The only disappointment was discovering the “building” control motions didn’t make it into game play (check-out the controller instructions booklet for more). There are more secrets and levels to make it interesting for LEGO vets.

The most notable treat that, in my humble opinion, makes the game easily worth it’s price is hidden in the bonus room: a game trailer for LEGO INDIANA JONES and it unlocks the INDY character for Star Wars Free Play! I can’t wait for the Summer release!

Disappointing: Where’s the Wii Lightsaber Mode?
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
As one who played this game on Xbox and Playstation2, I jumped all over the pre-order on this when it was announced, because I expected it to actually take advantage of the Wii features, as promised. Unfortunately, it doesn’t at all. With the Wii, one expects to use the Wiimote as a lightsaber and as a blaster, with full motion control. But what you actually get is merely having to use both the Wiimote and the Nunchuk to have access to all of the buttons.

Sure, there are additional characters and scenes in this version, and the graphics are pretty good for the Wii. But what’s the advantage to having full motion control if you’re not going to use it?

    What a disappointment!

I’ve already owned and played the PC and the Gamecube versions. The Gamecube version was very buggy and frustrating to play due to that fact. This new version really is superior to the other versions. They’ve made just enough changes to make it interesting, even if you’ve already played the older version. The Mos Espa podrace and Gunship Cavalry levels are greatly enhanced. My only minor complaint is they didn’t really make great use out of the Wii remote’s features. I find the game more fun to play just using the regular buttons.

Well, if you already own the Lego Star Wars I and II (probably from your old gamecube, since they didn’t come out on Wii), I wouldn’t bother getting this game. There are a few additional characters, some bonus levels, but basically this is a re-sell of the other disks. The only significant difference is that you use a Wiimote and nunchuk to control the action, not the classic button controller.
