    Second defective cover!
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I ordered a M-Edge Go in pebbled purple for a birthday gift for a friend.

The top hinge wouldn’t close tight enough to hold the K2. I had to send it back.

So I reordered one, same model, same color, and SAME DARN PROBLEM!

So now the second one has to go back!

It’s definitely the cover, not the K2, since it (K2) will fit nicely into my old M-Edge brown cover that I lent my friend, or into my M-Edge blue one that my own K2 wears.

We both love the M-Edge Go covers, they’re pretty, stylish, comfortable to hold.

But they’re of no use at this rate.

C’mon M-Edge, upgrade your quality control!

Exactly what I was looking for
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
After receiving my Kindle as a Christmas gift from my husband, I decided to shop for a cover to protect it. This cover is exactly what I wanted. It’s the purple one and the color is perfect. I wanted the color to be classy looking. One that doesn’t look out of place wherever you may lay it down.

I don’t really know what else to write other than … if you are looking for a great cover for your Kindle, do not hesitate to purchase this one.

    night light holder impedes functionality
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Make sure to check where the slot for the M-edge luminator is when you buy a jacket! I am disappointed because I bought this M-edge jacket to be sure it would be compatible (description said it was), however, the slot for inserting the light is on the right side! This is silly because the jacket opens from the right, and most people are right handed. With the light on this side, it blocks the page turn button on the right side. Also, because it is on the outside, it leaves the light unprotected if you want to leave it attached when not using the kindle. If the light slid in on the left side instead, there would be room for it so that it could be nestled in to the jacket crease when you close the jacket. It would also leave the right outer side free, which is the natural side to “turn” the pages. Other than that, it’s fine, but this issue is kind of annoying. I will prob return the jacket.

    Love the color
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
One of the things that influenced my decision to buy this was the video review that described and showed the real color…It is true it isn’t lavender like the description says…It is a darker purple…I prefer that over lavender…I am absolutely happy with the color and it was very easy to install my Kindle in the cover using the hooks in the binding and the slits in the side of the Kindle…I would recommend this to anyone who is a true purple (not lavender) lover like me.

I bought this Kindle cover for my mom for Christmas (my dad bought her the Kindle) and she she loved it! The quality is great, so soft and feels great! The Kindle fits perfectly and is very secure! The value is wonderful as I’d seen covers for Kindles at more than double the amazon price! If you have a Kindle, you will want a cover to protect it and this one is GREAT!!!

Beautiful purple color, protects my kindle!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This purple kindle cover from M-Edge was a great purchase to protect my kindle. The purple color is a little darker then shown, but a beautiful medium purple leather. It smells like a real leather bond book which I love. The case is sturdy and substantial enough to make me feel my kindle is really protected, as well the inside of the cover is a soft, maybe microfiber, cloth that is keeping the screen in perfect condition. All the buttons are easy accessible, I especially love that I can fold the front cover back and hold the kindle with one hand for easy reading. It is holding up wonderfully to the past month of use from me. The kindle is also still in perfect condition. I bought the kindle and waited for the cover before I started to use it, to make sure it wouldn’t get scratched or damaged and I am glad I did, because this cover is just perfect, lightweight, smooth, beautiful and most of all protective. Great buy!

We gave my daughter the Kindle for her birthday in late November (a surprise)without the case. She was worried about using it without the case so it sat in the box on her credenza. We gave her the case as a Christmas present – and she loved the color. I see her using her Kindle now every day.

While this product covers your Kindle and is very nice to look at, once the hinges are in they do not want to come out. They have to be forced out and it caused my Kindle to start to crack a little because they were in there so tight. Once I was able to get it out it the hinges were all bent up. I did not like this product at all.

This is a wonderful cover for the Kindle and the leather smells so good.

    Kindle Jacket
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love this cover for the Kindle. The two additional tabs on each corner help reenforce and hold the kindle in place along with the lock at the spine. Although it’s simple to insert and remove Kindle from jacket, there is no need to do so. It can be charged and ear plugs used without removal. If there is anything negative I could say about this product is the color is actually darker than it appears online. That wasn’t a problem for me because I like the darker color. The pebble leather is rugged yet soft and durable. You don’t want the very soft and supple leather anyway because you may be putting your Kindle in and out of a purse, backpack, briefcase or drawer. That can wear or tear very soft leather. This accessory is a must.

A cool jacket for your kindle
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this jacket for my kindle because I wanted to escape from the sterile, eternal black that we usually associate with office/work accessories. Kindles are really cool things so I had to find a jacket that matched. So there you go: the pebbled purple seemed to be perfect. And it is really nice but somehow I seem to think that my husband’s amazon jacket has better finishings. One last thing: I cannot envisage not having the jacket for my kindle: I put it on my purse, take it on trips and there isn’t a single scratch on my kindle.

    Purple cover
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I received my purple Kindle cover and was disappointed in the color – it shows up as much brighter purple online. After that i had some issues with the clips but figured it out and I’m very happy with it. It feels nice in my hand, it protects the Kindle and folds back flat for reading. It does make my purse a little heavier after carrying around my unprotected Kindle all week, but I worried about it every minute it was not covered. I finally can throw away the tattered plastic paper cover that came on it. Today I ordered the purple gel cover for reading while I’m at home, but for toting it around, this cover is great.

    Great Case and It’s Purple!!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The case is really great. We went to the casino the Sunday after Christmas and as I would rather spend my money on SOMETHING as opposed to gambling, I quickly decided that I had had enough. I wandered around until I found a seating arrangement in the middle of the casino floor. I took my kindle out of my purse and sat and read until time to leave. I thought it would be great to have something to transport my kindle around in. My niece, who purchased my Kindle as my Christmas gift, mentioned that she thought that something might be available. I immediately got on line and what to my wondering eye should appear but cases. Purple and Pink. I was delighted! I always find that items come in boring colors and since purple is my favorite color I was happy to make the purchase. I like the case very much and the protection it affords my kindle. Thank you.

This jacket is a beautiful color that is very practical. It folds back neatly, just as you would fold a book back for ease in holding.

Elastic straps firmly hold the kindle in place securely, yet allows for easy access to all ports.

The jacket also plenty of space for the book light for reading in low light areas.

Shipping was done quickly and efficiently.

You won’t be disappointed if you purchase this product.

I really love this cover and wouldn’t feel comfortable carrying my kindle around without it, BUT it could be made even better if it latched shut. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!!! It is a beautiful purple. I love the feel of it. I carry my Kindle with me all the time, and it is great in the jacket. The Kindle 2 is a little slick on the back, and I was concerned that I might drop it. I am glad to have the cover jacket. It makes it a lot easier to hold on to. I thought it might take away from the sleekness of the Kindle, but I think it might even add to it. It is great the way it is fastened in. I have a friend who has a Sony Reader, which she has had for a couple of years, and she commented on the way my Kindle cover has the corner elastic bands to hold it in. It is GREAT!!!!!

I’m very impressed with this Kindle cover. It is sturdy yet attractive. It was very easy to attach the clips to my Kindle, and the corner straps hold the kindle firmly and safely in place. The purple pebbled cover was beautiful – not too bright but not too dull either. I’d call it a muted purple – which is perfect for something I plan to carry with me most of the time, as it won’t clash with my variety of colors and styles in purses. It was definitely worth the cost, and I feel like I got my money’s worth and then some!

    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Cover works fine. Nice and sturdy. Love the deep purple color. Folds back flat so you can hold it and read–but takes a bit of time to go back in place when you close it again (place it face down so the weight of the Kindle will help it to be flat again). I like that it has the hooks to hold the Kindle in place in addition to the elastic at the corners. But be aware that the hooks get in the way of inserting the M-edge reading light inside as they indicate in the light instructions–I have to insert it on top and have the light bent over the corner and outside when not in use–hence my 4 star rating. I do recommend this cover.

This is a beautiful cover and it has a soft interior with a perfectly fitted hinge system. Yes, as someone else stated, it starts out stiff to fold back, but if you do it for a few days, it loosens up and works perfectly. It will soon fold back when you want it there and stay closed when you want that. I just doubled mine back on itself while I was reading so that it was easy and comfortable to hold the device, then laid it face down when not reading so that it re-closed itself. After about 4 days, it would stay either place on its own.

M-Edge Jacket — Lovely to look at but not as easy to use
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I bought this book cover because I was tired of the boring black color of the Amazon Kindle cover.

What’s good about it: Looks great! Beautiful color, nice leather, very attractive. This cover is a clear winner in the looks department!!

What’s not so good about it: Hard to get the Kindle in and out of this cover. If you always read with your Kindle in the cover, then this will not be a big deal. If you take your Kindle in and out of the cover like I do (many times I like to read with Kindle out of the cover — it’s ligher weight and easier to hold for long periods) then this will be annoying to you. Somehow the hinge does not line up as well as the one on the Amazon cover. I found it hard to push the top hinge down to release the device. Also found that it takes some jiggling to get it back on hinge when putting Kindle back into cover. Second undesirable thing is that while the cover folds back for reading, it does not fold down flat. If you do not hold it down it flips back closed. In contrast, the Amazon cover folds almost completely flat.

It looks so good I am considering keeping it anyway… but I’m not sure I can live with the difficulties whenever I take my Kindle in and out of the cover.

And it’s terrific quality for the price. I highly recommend it.

Great cover for the Kindle. It holds it very secure and the soft cover folds underneath so you can access all of the buttons with both hands easily. I like the way it looks more like a day planner than an electronic device. It feels great and is well made. I also have the zippered soft case to put it in but I’m afraid I might drop the Kindle while it’s out of the case. I think this cover is the best choice for the Kindle and the colors are very nice, I have the purple.

    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The cover is very nice and looks pretty. It’s convenient to read with and holds my kindle securely. My only problem is the deceptive advertisement of it as genuine leather. It is not. You can easily see it on the corner straps where the leather-like material is cut. I wouldn’t have a problem with it if they didn’t misrepresent it. I expected a nice real leather but got a nice fake. I’m not sure, I might return it.

Great value, good cover. Lasts a long time.
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I purchased this in July of 2009, and it is now January of 2010. How do I feel about this case?

Well, after half a year with the Amazon cover and half a year with this M-Edge cover, I have to say the M-Edge wins hands down. It is an elegant solution, and reading it with the front cover folded back is just like reading a real book. I don’t go anywhere without my Kindle and without this case, and I cannot imagine using my Kindle without it. The design is great and streamlined and it does not take up a lot of space like some of the other cases I’ve seen for the Kindle.

This color in particular is elegant and understated, and as the leather ages it still remains supple and pebbled and beautiful. My main problem with the Amazon case was how stiff and smelly the leather is, but it is not so here. The cover is suitably stiff and protects the Kindle well, but the surface of the leather on top is lovely and soft to the touch. The color also creates great visual interest without being blindingly bright.

I have only two complaints—the inside gray fuzzy part gets dirty rather easily and it cannot be cleaned to my knowledge. Not a huge deal, because that’s what cases are there for, but the idea of having to buy another one of these one day just because this one is too gross to use is not a pleasant one, as it does set you back a full thirty dollars. The other issue is that the bands that holds the right side of the Kindle down do not really hold, and as a result the Kindle just wiggles out of them and sits on top whenever I carry it around in my bag or purse. Again, not a big deal, since those two straps are unnecessary anyway. It would be better if they just removed them, period.

Overall a great purchase, and when this one wears out I’ll buy another one from M-Edge. Perhaps in blue.

The color is subtler than I thought it would be. But I like it. I usually stick to basic black or boring brown. But I asked Santa for a purple m-edge cover because now that I am old “I shall wear purple.” I did a lot of research of the different brands and styles (including opinions on youtube) to choose the cover for my new Kindle (which Santa also brought me!)

Attachment to the Kindle takes only a couple of seconds. Read the instructions first and don’t force it. Once “installed” it is extremely secure and cannot fall out. If this drops your Kindle is protected.

The m-edge Go! with Kindle 2 installed inside weighs 1 lb 2.6 oz. For comparison I weighed about 6 paperbacks. They each weighed between 9.1-15.2 oz. A few hard back books, by comparison, weigh each between 15.5 – 1 lb 9 oz. So the Kindle 2 with this cover, is the width and length of a paperback (thinner of course) is about the weight of a hard back. But I like the little bit of heft it gives. Not too heavy for me. To take the Kindle down to its naked weight you have 10.2 oz. Despite its weight I will likely keep my reader in the m-edge Go! cover most of the time to protect the screen form scratches and dings. In addition I will feel like I am reading a old fashioned book instead of an e-reader. And of course, I will look very cool.

    Pros:

    -Really feels like a book.

-The cover folds all the way backwards like a real paperback (but better.)

-It also can stand up nicely on its edge so you can put it on a table, lean on your elbows and read hands-free.

-Secure fitting and very protective. Toss in your purse or briefcase.

-I can attach my “Mighty Bright” book lamp (which I already owned) to the folded-back front cover.

-Read in bed laying on your side and can prop it on the mattress, hands free.

-Leather, with that nice leather smell. Nice subtle purple on outside, soft gray suede on inside.

    -Reasonably priced.

    -Comfortable and attractive.

    -Secure hinges and corner straps

    Cons:

    -A bit heavy

Oh and the Kindle is fabulous, but that’s another story.

    An Attractive Annoyance
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This attractive, purplely, well stitched, feels good in-hand leather, Kindle cover has a dark secret. It’s annoying! A Kindle cover should hinge easily, flipping out of the way to reside conveniently behind the Kindle while reading, flipping back easily to protect the reader. An Amazon Kindle Leather Cover (Fits 6″ Display, Latest Generation Kindle) cover protects the other Kindle in the household. It flips easily out of the way,and stays there, with no effort. This M-Edge GO! Genuine Leather Kindle Jacket with Hinge (Fits 6″ Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Pebbled Purple has a stubborn hinge, it flips back only very reluctantly. Constant vigilance is required to prevent it from flipping back to the protective closed position. Very annoying!

    I LOVE this cover!

It fits super snug and isn’t bulky at all so it doesn’t ruin the sleekness of the kindle.

The color is a nice grayish purple and is made of a good quality leather.

I’m very pleased with this product, its perfect in its simplicity.

I read all the reviews, then ordered this one because it sounded like what I wanted (something to protect my Kindle and to make it feel more like a book I could open and close) and I love purple! I am totally happy with this cover — the color is a soft purple very much like the image (I know images vary from screen to screen, so I was expecting something close if not exact, and I wasn’t disappointed at all). I’m happy with the size — it fits in my backpack or bag so easily and protects the Kindle from all sides and it is very lightweight to hold when reading (it’s also easy to fold the cover back if I want to hold it like a single page instead of like an open book); I didn’t think I needed the closure snap and I was right as I hven’t once wished I would hve ordered the one with the snap. I also didn’t care about a place to sotre the light, and so far I haven’t needed that either, so this slim cover is perfect for me.

I found it very easy to clip to the Kindle, and it has stayed secure so far (a little over a month now, and I use it a lot). It is also a great conversation starter as so few people have seen a cover like this, and they want to know what it is covering! (So then I do a sales pitch for Kindles as well!).

All in all I am thrilled with the Kindle and this cover — and especially all the books I’ve been reading thaat are all in one little easy-to-carry purple package!

Don’t order, if time is of the essence

Ordered three weeks before Christmas, as I had ordered a black one (apparently, Amazon has only these in stock), and it came within two days, so when I ordered a second kindle, for a gift, I also ordered this purple case, mistakenly thinking I would get the same, brilliant service, especially since I paid extra for one day shipping. Did not happen. The Kindle arrived within two days, the case is now scheduled for delivery on December 29th! Brilliant! Just plain brilliant! Amazon should make it a LOT clearer, when one orders more than one item, that the second item may be coming by pony express.

    Great Kindle Cover!

My husband got me a Kindle recently for my birthday along with a M-Edge Go! Kindle Jacket and I love both! The front cover folds back out of the way for easy reading. There was a VERY strong leather smell at first but that went away in time. The only con is that this cover weighs more than my Kindle and the added weight makes it necessary to have something to rest my arm on after awhile to avoid fatigue. But knowing my Kindle is protected is worth it! I got the purple cover and I LOVE it!

Wow! This is a wonderful product. I was very impressed with how secure the kindle clips into the hinge system of the cover and the elastic corners keep it from flapping away from the back cover. Purple is my favorite color and this is a great shade. The cover folds back nicely to be held comfortably. I use a clip on booklight for reading in bed and it clips nicely on to the cover without marring the surface.

I had a tablet type cover for my Kindle, but I find this book style more comfortable for my reading. The Kindle snaps securely into it. No worries about it falling out. I feel it is safer in case it is ever dropped. The color isn’t a deep purple but very pretty. Love it.

This cover is wonderful!! It is attractive, easy to use and good quality. Also, it adds just enough thickness to help me hold my Kindle with ease, I have tendonitis in both of my hands, so that is a major plus!

Nice, durable, attractive cover for Kindle
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve had my Kindle and this cover for a couple of months. This is a really good quality cover. This model comes in several colors. I’m sure all of them are the same quality. I chose the purple one, which is a classy purple, not carnival clown purple. It looks great. Nice outside leather and the inside lining is a nice neutral soft grey suede–or something like suede. Very gentle on your Kindle when you close it.

When I first read the reviews on this cover I was wondering how the heck this cover keeps the Kindle locked in. Well, if you’re wondering the same thing, do not fear. Kindle has some slots on the left side; and this book cover easily slips right in and locks it securely. And it’s easy to unlock, too.

Also, the little rubber bands on the top and bottom right-hand side are just there to add a little extra security. But believe me, the Kindle is locked in.

I like how I can hold my Kindle like a book when using this cover. The cover looks classy and it protects the Kindle. When I was looking for a cover I was also considering the model that has a strap. But I realized that it would probably just be a hassle and get in the way. And the one with a strap was more expensive, over $40. The Kindle is very secure in this cover.

If you want to transport it with you, you’ll probably need to put this in another bag or pouch to protect it from other things in your carry-on bags, purse or briefcase. I use Kindle at home mostly, but when I recently traveled on a plane, I put this in a plastic shopping bag that was about the same size–a bag like a small plastic Macy’s bag. I put it in my carry-on bag and didn’t have to worry about it getting dirty from other things in my bag. That was a quick fix, but I’ll probably get some kind of zipper pouch to put this into when I travel or commute.

If you want something that isn’t too bulky, that’s easy to hold and read, looks good and protects your Kindle, this is a great cover. I do not think the model with the strap is necessary–I think this one here works perfectly for my needs. I thought it was a little pricey, but it is defintely good quality and it protects my Kindle. And it is very attractive.

I debated getting this cover for my new Kindle 2 or getting one that has a closure. I decided to try this one because of the cost difference and I was unsure if the closure was really needed. I have no regrets with this cover. The quality is excellent and the color is very true to Amazon’s picture. I feel the Kindle is secure when in place and the cover protects the screen very well when it is crowded into my purse.

    MUST HAVE, Highly recommeed
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Not only does this cover secure your Kindle it looks good doing it. This is my second cover (and hopefully the last) I purchased. The first, (Amazon leather cover) was not secure at all. It kept coming loose from the hinges causing my Kindle to fall and break two months after my Kindle purchase (luckily I had the extended warranty). You won’t have that problem with this amazing cover as it has a really nice added feature which is the elastic strips that fit across the outside edges of the Kindle making it more secure.

The smell noted in previous reviews lasted a few days and was not that bad. It was a leathery smell.

The cover came with installation instructions which were very easy to understand, although it took a few tries to secure it to the hindges, but please don’t let that deter you from purchasing this wonderful cover.

I find the color, which is more of an eggplant, to be great.

If you purchase the Kindle the jacket is a MUST.. keeps it clean, scratchless and is a lot easier to hold and read the Kindle. I LOVE my Jacket, especially when it came in my favorite color :)

    Definite buy!

I jus got mine about a week ago and I really love it. It had a little picture inside to show how to attach the hooks, which was really easy. I think it makes holding the Kindle a lot easier, and the interior suede feels really nice to the touch. Adds a little weight but I got used to that quite fast.

The color is a bit darker than in the pictures, I’d say kind of grayish-purple. In another review someone called the color grape, but I’d call it more plum. What ever you call it it’s a nice color. I am thinking of ordering another different colored one, but am not sure wich color to get.

I am very happy with this cover!

I have had this Kindle cover for approximately 1 month now. I agree with most of the reviewers as it is stylish, is strong-smelling at first (but if you like the smell of leather it’s a good thing, ha ha), and seems quite durable.

It fits my Kindle 2 well, and it seems to be a secure hold to the unit. The only thing that is slightly disappointing is that I ALSO wanted to put a silicone cover on my kindle strictly to reduce the slipperiness of the unit and because I could change the colors on a whim. The silicone sleeves are cut with holes to accomodate hinge-holding kindle covers, but this particular cover appears to have too little clearance, so I cannot use the sleeve at the same time.

The only other inconvenience is that I don’t feel comfortable folding the cover back on itself so that I’m not holding the cover like a traditional book. I suppose you could if you forced the cover, but I want to keep it in excellent shape (both appearance and functionality).

If I could have an upgrade, it would be to have an alternate method of closing the little latch; maybe velcro or magnets…?

But, with these MINOR inconveniences, I get LOTS of compliments not only on my Kindle, but on the beautiful cover, and so far, my Kindle has remained safe and scratch-free.
