This was included in another purchase for 71 cents. It makes the screen shiny and reflective, which defeated the whole point of the kindle’s easy-to-read screen. I ripped it off after a few hours.

This is the first bad review of anything I have ever done. This Item was hard to apply, more bubbles in it than a bubble bath, the glare off of it was horrid,(might make a nice mirror). Not worth the time or the money. I just hope I can get all the sticky glue off my screen.

All in all I would suggest just being careful with your Kindle and NEVER put one of these on it. But that is just my opinion.

I used the screen protector on my Kindle for a few weeks. I found it annoying to read through it. I couldn’t seem to get it straight on the screen or remove the bubbles. I took it off and discarded it.

    Creates a glare
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I purchased these covers because I was afraid of scratching the screen on my Kindle. They were not difficult to apply and protected the screen, however, they created a glare on the screen. I peeled it off and realized that the screen has a matte finish to it and when you add the protectant cover, any lights around create a glare. They’re not expensive, but my suggestion is to not waste your money on them.

I really like this screen cover. It came with a cleaning cloth and an applicator to smooth out the bubbles. My problem was the “Front” sticker. It left most of it’s adhesive on the cover. Somebody didn’t think this through. These adhesives can be removed with vegetable oil, but I don’t want to oil my Kindle!

Hard to apply. Always has bubbles in it. A sticker is in the corner of the material that is just about impossible to get off. When you do get it off, there is a sticky residue left that will not come off.

The shipping is extreme for such a small piece of material. They make their money through shipping, not from a quality product.

Save your money. DO NOT PURCHASE!

One other thing. I did a combination purchase of a cover for my Kindle, a book light, and this protective cover. I thought all the items were coming through Amazon, and therefore the total was over $50.00 and entitled me to free shipping. This cover come from some other rinky dink outfit and is not included in the free shiiping. Therefore it cost me $4.00 additional shipping.

It was bad enough to get a completely useless screen protector, but then to read in the reviews that other people at least got a cleaning cloth…I’m just glad I ordered this product with something else so I got free shipping. Also, I have a disability which limits my finger dexterity, so I almost threw the thing away. Instead, I took it to work and asked a very dexterous colleague for help. She got the screen protector on, but there are still the bubbles and the glare.

I only ordered this to qualify for combined free shipping then found out it was shipped separately and incurred a shipping charge bigger than the purchase price. The protective screen is just a flimsy piece of sticky vinyl film. In trying to apply it to the Kindle screen, I kept getting bubbles trapped underneath. No point in returning it when shipping is more than a refund, so I ended up throwing the dang thing away. Just a waste of time and money.

This has got to be the worst pice of junk you could buy, It is difficult if not imposible to get the tabs off of the screen cover, and it is not made for the average person to deal with it. the instructions were of no value. I would not recomment this to anyone.

I purchased this at a great price then went back and purchased another. I have used it on my ereader even though it is not a Kindle, and it was fairly easy to use. I have used it on other items also, like the screen on my camera, my telephone, pd, and others. At this price it was a great deal. The first item I put it on was my camera, over two years ago, and it is still there and holding up great. My phone screen is also covered and I have used that multiple times a day for over a year now. Great deal.

While the quality of the protective sheet is average, the design to apply it is unsatisfactory. The two tabs utilized for placement do not separate cleanly once the sheet it applied. Both the paper and glue tabs do not separate cleanly from the sheet leaving paper and glue smudges that interfere with the reading pane. While only $.75 per sheet, the shipping was $10.00 and the expected quality is well below the expected average. The low price may have indicated “old” product.

Applying the clear protector for the Kindle wasn’t too hard at all– just like a previous reviewer said, you need to make sure there is no dust or dirt on your Kindle screen before you begin to apply the clear screen to the Kindle.

A steady hand helps to make sure the Kindle screen protector is placed exactly right on the Kindle, and that you’ll have to clean off the screen protector itself from time to time– after the protector is on the Kindle, of course–I’d use a lint free cloth, and a small dab of undistilled water on the cloth, to clean off the protector, so not to have a shine on the protector itself.

    Overall, a nice product.

The screen protector for the Kindle 2 does what it says it will protect the cover of the screen.

Pros: It is made out of a durable plastic that can be removed and replied if needed. You can wipe down the cover without worry of damaging the screen on your Kindle 2.

Cons: It was hard to get all of the air bubbles out of the protector (never did get them all out). Also one of the tabs used for applying it left glue residue on the plastic protector. It is also not glare free.

Over all it does what it says it will do and for the cost it can not really be beat.

This screen protector was a waste of money. The stickers are numbered in what order to peel off then put on the kindle. Only the final sticker that was actually on the protector would not come off but left most of the sticker. So the one corner of the protector was not useable so I ended up just taking it off and throwing it away.

I read all the negative reviews and I really dont undertsand what everyone is ranting about, yes the directions to apply are simple, but there is 1 protector sheet covered with 2 pieces of temp. plastic, one is labeled #1 , one is labled # 2, you peel the #1 piece off partway,, the inside surface has to be the adhesive,so peel #1 sheet to expose the protector sheet, line it up evenly, place and press and after its on the screen, then remove the #2 sheet which will be on the top,, I found it very easy to use,and is good protection for the screen. I had 1 little airbubble at the top which I squeezed out. The trick is to line it up evenly at first The protector sheet is a hair smaller than the screen so it fits perfctly, so really I dont know what all the negative feedback is about.

    Buy two!
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I bought this while I was buying a light for my Kindle. I read the reviews about not being able to tell the difference between the screen protector and the backing. I figured that the people writing the review hadn’t really paid all that much attention; and that I would be different. When I opened the packaging and was ready to adhere the screen protector to my Kindle I was convinced I had been able to tell the difference. Wrong! Only once I had figured this out, I had already gotten my finger prints all over the actual protector. I tried to work with in any ways in vain and became so frustrated that I crumpled everything up and threw it away. However, given that these things are less than a dollar a piece, I would have bought two and gotten it right the second time.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!! Waste of Time and Money!
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Do not waste your time or money on these screen protectors. The directions, if you can really call them directions, are only a few lines and are not specific enough. I applied the screen protector very carefully after reading the directions, which were more like a riddle than a guide. To my extreme dissapointment, there were bubbles left under the surface of the screen protector. I removed the protector and applied it a second time, using more caution. There were still bubbles. I tried to remove the screen protector again, but it was as if it was glued on. I had to pick at the corners of my Kindle’s screen until the screen “protector” came off. So much for protecting my screen. I was closer to damaging my Kindle’s screen while trying to apply and remove the protector than I had been before I owned a screen protector. Aside from the unclear directions, bubbles under the screen, and difficulty applying and taking off the screen protector, the clear, shinny surface of the protector left a huge glare on my screen. So I guess it’s your choice: A.) You can have a protected screen with bubbles under the surface and a huge glare on the screen that makes reading impossible or… B.) You can have an unprotected screen that you can read off of and you will just have to be extra careful. I do not recommend this product to any Amazon customer or Kindle owner.

    What a Waste of Money!!
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I’m glad I didn’t spend much on these, because they were a complete waste of money. First of all, it’s very difficult to figure out how to peel the protector away from the adhesive, or even to determine which part is which. Once you do get the protector and adhesive seperated, and decide which piece you’re supposed to be using, it’s hard to get the sheets onto the Kindle screen. The screen has rounded corners, and the screen protectors don’t. That particular design flaw makes putting them into the proper place very frustrating, as they simply don’t fit. Finally, the screen protectors are shiny! The lovely, easy on the eyes Kindle screen surface is ruined by this piece of plastic reflecting light back at you. It ruined the Kindle experience for me, and I quickly peeled it off and threw it in the garbage! Giving this product even one star is too generous, but zero wasn’t an option!

“Ditto” to the comment “there wasn’t a choice of ZERO or this product would have gotten it”! OMG don’t put this thing on your precious Kindle. it’s one good point: yes, it fits the Kindle 2 beautifully. You do need a steady, non-caffienated pair of hand to apply. BUT: Huge glare, nearly impossible to remove, no convenient card to smooth bubbles accompanied it, and – best of all – couldn’t get the top layer of proctective plastic off. Instructions that actually have something to do with the product would have been nice: no where did it read that there’s a second, upper protective layer. I thought I was stuck with sticker goo forever! used a piece of duct tape, oh so gingerly, to finally get a corner to lift off. it’s in the trash can and I’m considering setting it aflame. Hugging my undamaged Kindle. ACK!

One of the great features of the Kindle is the anti-glare screen, making it super esay to read in many environments. This product COMPLETELY NEGATES the anti-glare screen. I found it to be only slightly less shiny than a pane of glass…Can someone please make a screen protector for Kindle that does not glare? Amazon, can you hear me? if you think that your monitor on your computer needs a cover then this is something to look into. The protector increases the shine factor of the screen and I am still dealing with a couple of bubbles beneath the plastic. If you expect to be touching the screen then this is for you…otherwise it is kind of superfluous.

Don’t Let the Cost Fool You !!
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Don’t be fooled like I was about the $.01 cost for this item. I ordered it along with a leather cover. The 2 items shipped from different locations and I was charged $3.97 for shipping on an item that cost a Penny!! Here I was thinking that the two items would ship together and I’d have no freight costs, but that’s not so. I guess I should’ve looked more closely at check-out time.

As far as the item itself goes, it has a shiny surface which reflects surrounding light making reading annoying. You constantly have to tilt the Kindle to an angle that doesn’t reflect the light onto the screen. As another reviewer said, the instructions that came with it were woefully lacking. I’ve gotten mine installed, but I do not like it at all. I’m keeping my eye out for a non-reflective screen protector with some sort of matte finish. Mine already has scratches on it even though I’ve had it only about 3 weeks and I have a leather cover.

The vendor was very prompt in sending the item out. It arrived literally within days via the USPS. I feel I was taken by the separate shipping cost on this item and want everyone else who is considering purchasing this to be aware.

    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
We bought the cover to protect the screen of our new Kindle. Ironically, instead of protecting the Kindle, the cover destroyed my screen and caused bubbles to form under the glass. It also pulled small bits of the screen off when we removed the cover.

This thing destroyed our almost new Kindle and we had to get a new one. I feel ripped off for the purchase of the cover. I also feel ripped off by the fact that Amazon sold the product, it destroyed our almost new Kindle and they did not stand behind it.

We were very lucky to have purchased the insurance package. The insurance cost almost $70, but at least were able to get our damaged Kindle replaced.

After reading some negative reviews about this Kindle screen protector, I wasn’t sure if I should waste my time and money on it. However, at the time the only other Kindle screen protector I saw was the $12/sheet one (which is a bit pricey just for 1 protector). Anyways, I went ahead and bought this one, and was pleasantly surprised. It fit PERFECTLY, and was really easy to apply (I had absolutely no air bubbles, and I can’t even do that with my cell phone screen protectors); you just have to take your time when applying. Not too much reflection either. I totally recommend this product!

Clear LCD Screen Protector for Kindle 2 E-Book Reader

I love my Kindle and was happy to purchase the protector to save it from scratches. But I could never get the bubbles out and found using it that way extremely annoying. Tossed it away immediately. I would not recommend this item.

The screen protector was easy to apply. There is too much glare. Tab to remove protector is in the wrong place.

    Not good for Kindle

There is nothing wrong with this product other than the fact that it is horrible for the Kindle. One of the reasons I love the Kindle is that there is virtually no glare or reflection off of the screen. Almost like reading paper. This screen protector takes all of that away. I had it on perfectly and took it off five seconds after reading with it. Save your dollar and do not buy this item!

It was very easy to apply and puts my mind at ease that I won’t damage the screen.

    What I expected.

Some confusion on the order. Fit as expected. Not much chance of using it out of doors since it’s winter here.

    We Have Two

I bought the first Kindle for myself with gift money from my Mom. My wife loved it so much that I could not get a turn on the Kindle so I had to buy another one for myself. We have been nothing but pleased and we are reading more than ever before. I have been able to get books that I had only a slim hope of finding in the best libraries in my area. We are totally satisfied with our Kindles.
