SmartWool uses their long lasting blend of wool and nylon to make their Trekking Heavy Crew Sock as adventurous as you are. The sights and sounds of an exotic land should not be overshadowed by the smell of your socks. Arch support and padding aid in keeping foot muscles relaxed and protected during long trips. Wool has the ability to keep your feet warm and dry while the outside temperature goes from chilly to steamy. Foot funk and odors are naturally repelled for day after day on the trail. Wash these wooly socks in a stream and they'll be dry before you know it. Product Features

My husband loves these socks. I got a couple of pairs of them for Christmas, and he was very very happy when he saw them.

Here’s my laundry list:
Pros:
-Soft
-Look cool (lines along each side w/ differentiating color). I like the gray ones the most.
-Breathable
-Absorbant
Cons:
-Tough (not that stretchy). I guess you could consider this a pro, too
-Not that warm in the winter
-This is just a con in general about wool socks. Since they’re more expensive, I take better care of them than my other clothes, and so I was these by hand. Since they soak up so much water, it generally takes a while to clean these. Once cleaned, they take anywhere between 1.5-2 days to try at room temperature.
I would recommend these to anyone. I’m never going back to cotton socks!

Worth every penny!

These socks are worth every penny. Comfort and warmth without wool itch or sweating. I gave these socks as stocking stuffers to all my family members and now they are all hooked.

best socks ever

I would not have believed it if I had been told that socks could make such a difference in walking several miles, boots seem to fit better, and no foot rubbing or chafe, no blisters , AND , they dry overnight, AND there is no odor even after 2 days of wear, 3 maybe if it is not too hot. Great for at home in cold climates also.

good socks

I always get smartwools, they are the best, almost like slippers. I hike for a living so I know, try 2 pairs (not of the super thick ones) at once its even better. I suppose there are other wool/synthetic blends out there, maybe as good. But thick blended socks are the way to go for hikers and bootwearers in general. Also nice for cold days around the house with no shoes.

Perfect for cold winter nights sitting at home in front of the fire OR a long summer hike. Great cushioning and fit. Well worth the investment.

Best socks, ever

I hike on hard terrains for a living– mostly surveys. My feet, especially my narrow heels, are prone to blisters.
After a truley awful heel-blistering experience, I decided to try these socks and now hike in nothing else. I don’t even need liner socks anymore!! they are comfortable, don’t slip, and are *tough*. They are a bit expensive but worth every penny to me, in prevented pain and saved $$ on blister bandaids! buy these socks for hiking!!
